I land on the beach beside Dagon, both of us with glum faces at the prospect that we have to play games while attached.
"Since everyone is here, we'll begin." Dixon says as we all stand in a rough circle, facing one another. I shift as far away from Dagon as I can, my anger moving my feet. He glares at me as I move away, and I feel a snarl working its way onto my face before Jario crosses the circle and stands in between us.
"We're going to play capture the flag for the beginning." Dixon says, "We all know how to play, so we'll have the Garrison's against the Warrick's. And since you two are chained together," everyone looks to Dagon and I, "You'll act as one. You'll be with the Warrick's, and I'll be on the Garrison's team."
"Well, this is crummy." Dagon growls as everyone except us pitches in to draw a huge line through the middle of the beach, creating the two sides. We just watch from the side, gazing at the seven huge Slytherins that crouch or lean down to make the border.
"Yeah, it is." I nod my head, remembering Julissa's words. I feel like throwing insults, but I keep my mouth clamped shut. I glance out the corner of my eye to see Dagon's eyebrows furrowed, and I know he's thinking about the fact we just agreed.
"Hey, you two love birds, go to that side." Dixon calls before I growl, "Do not call us that."
"Unless you want to have your head cut from your shoulders." Dagon snarls to his brother before we cross the line, standing beside Jario, Jandro and Julissa.
"See, you guys can agree." Dixon says with a small smile, and when our scowls only deepen, he says, "We've already hidden our flag. Have you?"
"Yes, we have." Julissa nods as Jario leans over and whispers in my ear, "About what I was going to say earlier, you were unconscious from Dagon's bite for six days."
"Six days?" I repeat, almost aghast, "Really? Did he poison me at the same time to keep me asleep or something?"
"Well, since Dagon's saliva is a mix of Komodo Dragon venom and a toxin that causes coma's, it inflicts pain and unconsciousness. Since you were never human, you handled it much better and only slept for a couple days. Most people would've died instantly with the amount he put in your system." Jario explains as I notice Dagon leaning closer to listen to the conversation, and I twist my head to glare at him.
"What? You would be listening in as well if someone was talking about you." Dagon growls before Jario steps between us and says, "Your body now conceals almost as much power as Dagon has in his muscles, since he put some of his DNA into yours."
"What? How on Earth did I do that?" Dagon asks before Dixon shouts, "Go!"
As Dagon and I step up to the line to watch Dixon who's across from us, Jario explains, "You had the mindset of killing her with your bite at the time, and your demon was using almost all of its power to murder her, so when it didn't work, the strength from inside you went into her. That is also why you were so tired the next day and could barley function."
"You tried to kill me?" I say with sarcasm as I turn to look at Dagon, not seeing Dixon inching over the line, "I'm honored."
Dagon yanks me sideways as he tackles Dixon to the ground, and I tumble on top of Dagon who's pinning Dixon to the ground. Dixon laughs and then says, "I give up, Dagon. Now get off, you big lug."
I fall off of Dagon's back as he straightens up, and then scramble to my feet as Dagon walks off, and I'm determined not to be dragged along like a rag doll.
"Why did you have to touch me?" Dagon growls as he looks at Huntly, the next person who's in front of us. I scoff and then say angrily, "You're the one who launched off into space and made me fall. You're such a big target I couldn't fall anywhere else."
