"So, what is it about him you're falling for? All he's been to you is cruel. You said it yourself." Jario asks as I feel my face blush, and I bite my lip.
"I know you'll be tempted to say what I tell you, but can you please not? I almost lost it at the table." I say before Jario's eyebrows go up, and he laughs.
"So what I said was accurate at the table? About you wanting to flatter Dagon?" Jario finally manages to get out, and I say to get things straight, "I like Dagon, and you know what, yes, I do want to make him smile."
"What did you just say?"
A different voice comes from behind us, and I turn slowly to see Dixon standing right behind us. My face explodes in a raging heat, and I whirl back around before I hear Jario say, "Dixon, nice of you to join us. Where may I ask is your brother?"
"He's in his room. I just finished my chat with him." Dixon speaks as he sits to my left, looking me in the eyes. I want to look away more than anything, but he commands me with a impassive face, "What did you say? I want to make sure I heard you properly."
"I said I like your brother." I reply, "That I want to make him smile."
I think Dixon is going to lose it, but he actually breaks out in a wide smile and says, "Good work, Jario. You were right."
"You told him?" I whirl to face Jario as my face burns in embarrassment, "You told Dixon of all people?"
Jario laughs and then protests, "You weren't going to get anywhere with your likeness for him if I didn't let in Dixon. Besides, he could tell by the confusion in Dagon's glance that you're breaking even with him."
"So you're saying that Dagon might like me as a friend?" I feel my heart start knocking around in my chest as I wait for their responses, and Dixon finally says, "I think he's getting used to you. But that doesn't explain the confusion and how he's suddenly embarrassed."
"No, it doesn't." Jario brings his lip into his mouth and then asks me, "So, tell us when?"
"When what?" I look between Dixon and Jario with my eyebrows raised, "I'm confused."
"When you started liking him." Jario replies as the image of me turning into Dagon comes to mind, and I feel the heat crawling back up my face.
"I need to stop blushing." I shake my head then answer, "I first decided I liked him when I turned myself into him. I wondered what it would've felt like to have a voice like his."
I look down at my hands as I hear no reply, and I wonder if I've said something wrong. There's only one way to find out, so I look up at Dixon who practically shrieks, "That's why you did it!"
"Keep it down!" I shout at him before he bursts out laughing, and I look to Jario who's clutching his sides, his whole body shaking as he guffaws. I shake my head and then say, "I also thought about . . . No, never mind."
"No!" Dixon says with a wild look in his eyes, "Tell us more."
I twist to look at Jario who is looking at me with puppy eyes, and I laugh before replying, "You guys will just laugh harder."
"Well, is that a bad thing? I was laughing about the fact that you are in love with the Slytherin that you tried to kill once." Jario's smile breaks as he starts to laugh again, and I sigh before saying, "Fine. Well, what I thought was what made me turn into him. And I thought how I wanted to know what it would be like to be inside his body and to have his voice. I mean," I lower my voice as Dixon and Jario come a little closer, "he's the sexiest Slytherin I've ever seen, and he rockets past any human."
