Dargon's grip around my waist only tightens as we walk to the huge table for lunch. I make to sit down, but he holds me up and says, "I just want to thank you once again."
I smile at him before he reaches forwards with his talons, moving hair out of my face. He tucks it behind my ear and then whispers, "You saved me."
"I couldn't watch you go through that. It was sad." I mumble before he sighs with a smile and says, "I don't deserve you."
"Likewise." I grin at him before pulling him into me, wanting to be close to him again. He gladly hugs me, and he mutters in my ear, "Just remember, I love you."
"I wouldn't forget if I tried." I whisper as I move my head so I can look up at him. He looks down at me with his incredible gold eyes, the white and blue spots gone. Pure gold is his eyes, and they come closer and closer. Then they disappear from sight as I close my eyes and his lips meet mine. I feel my body erupt in shock at how gentle he is, the way he isn't absolutely starved for me. At the same time, my body heats to an insane height as I feel Dargon's arm move across my back, his hands slithering up the back of my shirt.
I let out a muffled groan through our connected mouths as he creates designs on my back with his talon. His lips turn up in a smile after, and I find myself smiling too. Both of us grinning breaks the kiss, but we don't move away from each other. I'm about to tell him how he makes me wild when a gasp cuts the air.
I twist my head around to see Koray and Jandro mid walk, just looking at us. I give them both smiles and say, "Hello, you two. How're you doing?"
My question is completely ignored as Koray says, "You look awfully close for a human and-"
She doesn't have time to finish her sentence before Dargon releases me and leaps over the table, launching through the air to cut her off. He puts a hand over her mouth and growls, "She isn't a human. I transformed her because I already loved her, and she is mine."
I feel my throat dry up at the memory of the moment, and Dargon turns to me with a hint of shyness in his grin. He walks back around the table and says, "I did change you because I loved you. I couldn't control myself and when I took you away from everyone else. I knew that the feeling I got wasn't an animalistic rage. It was an odd sensation, starting here," Dargon puts his hand to my abdomen, "and went all the way here."
He moves his hand up my torso and through the middle of my bosom to put his hand over my heart. I let myself sag into him as his hand twitches against my chest, and he chuckles softly before saying, "Sorry. I don't mean to be so fast. You're just so beautiful.""Apology accepted." I smile up at him before he grabs my shoulders and says, "I'm sorry, but not for the reaction."
"Your reaction or mine?" I ask as my eyebrows raise, and he shakes his head with a smile. He puts his mouth by my ear and responds, "I meant yours, but if I was going to be honest-"
"-Today's lunch is human, unless you'd rather eat each other." Jario sticks his head between ours, and Dargon's fist comes smashing down on his head. Jario's eyes go from angry to stunned, and right after, he says, "Crap, you hit hard."
"I'm sorry. I didn't know that was going to happen." Dargon apologizes before giving Jario a manly slap on the back, and I ask to change the turn of events, "How was your night?"
"Not bad, thanks." Jario responds as he rubs his head. He looks to Dargon and then asks, "Why'd you hit me?"
"Because you're too close to Amethyst for my liking." Dargon replies as he pulls me to his side. I feel a grin worm its way onto my face as I blush, and Jario puts his hands in the air as he says, "Okay. I'll stay away."
