"See you tomorrow Katherine"
"See you tomorrow, Michael"

I took my shoes off as I entered my new home after a long ass day. Michael offered to give me a ride home to which I of course, accepted. I could've walked but it was getting dark. I asked for his social media if he had any and told me He only had facebook which is fine considering Filipinos use facebook. A lot. Meaning I was online all the time. We also exchanged numbers as soon as he walked me to my door and now here I am. I didn't even realize I was smiling until I was greeted by a grinning mother while father was cooking what smelled like sinigang in the kitchen.

"Who was that booooy?" She asks, kissing my cheek as I kissed returned the favor. "What boy?" Dad called out "Looks like our lil girl finally found a boy" She teased as she poked my sides "Mom! He's just an...acquaintance, he gave me a tour around school and drove me around town, relax" I laugh as I try to avoid her poking and walked to the kitchen while mom followed.

"Acquaintance? What kind of bs is that? It's either just stranger, friends and boyfriend and I surely hope that it isn't the first and last option. You wouldn't let a stranger drive you around town neither have a boyfriend on the first day would you?" Dad said as he was chopping up tomatoes.

"Dad, chill. Michael's pretty descent and I was the one who asked him anyway and no, I'm not going on a date with someone I just met" I say kissing his cheek before walking to the fridge "His name is 'Michael' eh? Tell me more about this 'Michael'" "Ugh, you say that like I'm actually dating him" I roll my eyes as I took out another pack of sushi rolls Michael and I picked up on the way home "By the way, I have some sushi I bought from the market nearby" I put the rolls in the fridge and closed it "Well it does sounds like you two went on a date" Mom said, wiggling her eyebrows in a teasing manner as I groaned "He's also filipino but he didn't grow up one so I'm teaching him some words and history in exchange for the tour he gave me"

"Oh that's perfect! Then you can invite him over tomorrow!"

"Moooooom" I whined as she giggled and hugged me "Oh come on! I want to meet the guy who made my girl all smiley when she walked in the door. Not gonna lie, he looked pretty cute" "Mom!" I scoffed and laughed along with her "Oh, leave her alone, hon. She'll let us meet him if she wants to, no need to be up her business" "Like you weren't just a minute ago" "Well I had to! I'm certain that you felt the same at first"

I rolled my eyes for the millionth time that night as I told them I was gonna go up to my room. When I was up the stairs I heard mom say something along the lines of "Introduce him to us before you two date" which earned another groan from me.

I dropped my bag down at the side as soon as I entered through my bedroom door. Closing and locking it, I discarded my pants and hoodie, leaving me to my underwear and oversized shirt. I looked at my phone hoping to receive a text from Michael.

Nothing.

Maybe I should text him first.

Would that be too desperate?

No no, I would just be thanking him that's all.

Thoughts clouded my mind as I paced around the room. I blasted 'Ain't it fun' by Paramore and threw my phone on the bed. I passed by my mirror so I decided to stare at myself a bit. I wasn't pale, nor was I a morena. I was...fair? I don't know.

My skin wasn't clear but it wasn't oily either. Just a few pimple scars here and there. My hands went up to squeeze my chest. Okay but is it weird that I do that. Not in a sexual way but like wow, I forgot I had these. I pulled the hem of my shirt to my back so I can see my figure. I was quite thin. With a muffin top showing every now and then when I eat but right now, it was really really flat even though I ate tons today. I let my hands fall to my sides as I leaned forward and made a duck face. I scrunched my nose then grinned widely. I pout and squint my eyes as my hands went up to ran through my hair and back down they go.
