(F/N)'s POV

I didn't expect to have to drive home before I went to the Cullen mansion, but when I drove into Forks Proper, I had to get home soon. Though my car stuck out like a sore thumb next to Bella's dad's police cruiser when I parked, I didn't care as I dashed into my house and ripped my fridge open, grabbing the first blood bag and draining it dry. I normally heated up the blood bags, but I was in full vampire mode and I needed blood. And one thing niggled at the back of my mind as I drained blood bags like they were water bottles; what happened to the Wendy's food I'd eaten? I knew I'd felt it when I was out with Riley at the Gucci store, but I didn't feel it on the drive home. Something happened with my abilities and I had to learn more. Were they evolving? I knew there was more to come, but I didn't know what or when.

As I tried to figure out what was going on with my abilities and if I'd discovered a new one, my mind immediately went to Bella. Was Bella alright? She wasn't at home from what I saw, so that told me she either was at the Cullen house or in Phoenix. But something in the back of my mind told me there was more happening with Bella by James' hand that I wouldn't like. Had James killed or turned her? I didn't know, and as I kept draining blood bags, I didn't try to think about it. I also made up my mind I would stay with the Cullens for a bit until this shit with James calmed down.

After I finished my tenth blood bag and felt moderately able to deal with humans, I got into my Ashton Martin, put on an 80s radio station, and headed to the Cullen mansion. As I drove, I couldn't help but think about Riley and what I saw using my TV channels. When I finally parked outside the mansion, I shut the car off and saw Carlisle sitting outside staring at me; this would be interesting, as I saw him down in Phoenix with Alice, Jasper, and Emmett. I shut the car door without taking my eyes off of Carlisle, walked toward the house, and stopped right in front of him. He stared at me and I asked, "How bad was it?" Carlisle stood up and I followed him into the house, hoping nothing too bad had happened to Bella. Once I entered the house and didn't see anyone, I asked again, "What happened, Carlisle?"

"Bella was almost turned," was his answer and my jaw hit the floor. Jame almost turned Bella? That would not have gone over well if the Big Three heard about it, which they definitely did since they heard everything.

I growled out, "Where the fuck is James? His head needs to be served on a platter for breakfast!"

"James was killed," Carlisle stated.

My eyes widened and I gaped. "By whom?" I asked urgently.

"After he bit Bella, Edward bit a part of his skin off. Alice, Jasper, and Emmett were the ones to finish him off with a bonfire while I had Edward suck all the venom from her wound, thus stopping the change. Though he almost killed her, Bella is alright and alive," he replied.

My mind tried to comprehend the new information. Though I was happy Bella was alive and not a vampire, I knew in my heart there was something he wasn't telling me. I looked at him and asked, "Where is she?"

Carlisle answered, "She's still in a Phoenix hospital. The paramedics couldn't move her at the scene and we came up with a good cover story for her to tell her parents. She does have a broken leg and will have to wear a cast until that heals."

I smiled and said, "And if she doesn't like anything Edward says, she can use that boot to hit him in the shin."

That got a chuckle out of Carlisle and Esme said from the kitchen, "Edward's still in Phoenix, but everyone else is somewhere in the house. They'll probably want to know how your weekend in Seattle went since you're glowing."

I stared at her after she spoke; was she inadvertently flirting with me? Probably, but I didn't think about it too much. "Considering the fact that you're wearing the same clothes from Saturday, you had a good time," a familiar gruff voice said behind me.
