(F/N)'s POV

I didn't know what Riley and Jason discussed when they left, but I did know that it both included me and wasn't good. I'd deceived Riley when we first met and didn't speak to him in maybe a year, so it was natural for him to hate my guts; I'd hate my guts. I sighed and played with Victoria's discarded shawl when I heard above me, "You know, desecration of a body is sacrilegious in some religions."

I looked at Seth from my crouch and said, "And I'm sure you haven't pissed on any dead carcasses while you were on patrol, hmmm?"

He shrugged and said, "No, I haven't done anything of that nature. So you can stop calling me a dog because I'm not, (F/N) Volturi."

I giggled when he sat like a dog and stared at me, probably guessing what I was thinking. While still flicking her shawl, I said, "I don't think Riley and I have a future together after this. I lied to him when we first met and then I left him after we made love the first time. If I were him, I'd cut my losses and run even though we're mates."

Though Seth was younger than I by a few centuries, he said, "No, Riley loves you. It's pretty obvious from the way he looks at you. There's no way on God's green earth that he'd leave you over you lying to him." He clapped me on the back and said, "Besides, everyone's lied to someone in their past! Who says he's any different?"

I giggled and stated, "I'm older than he is by a few centuries, and I've seen what my kind do to their mates if they don't get what they want. I won't do that to him."

Seth placed his hand on my shoulder and said with more conviction than I felt, "I know you won't. You're a good person, (F/N), even when you call me a dog."

I smiled, squeezed his hand, and said, "Thank you for seeing me as more than a monster."

He smiled and said, "I'm always happy to help, (F/N). Even if I act my age, I'm still happy to help my friends."

I stared at him when he called me his friend. Was I his friend after the shit I did just now? He cocked an eyebrow at me and I asked, "Am I really your friend after what you witnessed?"

Seth nodded and countered, "I taught you about Iron Man and MARVEL, didn't I?" When I giggled and nodded, he added, "Friends do that for each other. They look out for each other and help them. And no matter what happens, I'll always call you my friend."

I grinned at being called his friend and said, "I'm happy to be your friend, Seth. I'd hug you if you weren't missing your shirt."

Seth let out a snort and crossed his arms while mumbling, "I was hot and didn't want to wear a shirt. Don't judge me!"

I giggled as someone asked behind me, "What're you talking about?"

I turned and saw Riley and Jason walking toward Seth and I from wherever they were. Riley was staring at Seth and I finally put it together as to why; Seth was sans a shirt and we were way too close for comfort. I shot away from him and quickly said, "Nothing's happening here!"

Seth nodded, stood up next to me, and said while staring at Riley, "(F/N)'s right, dude. We were just talking, nothing more."

Riley growled at Seth while staring him down, "If that's true, "dude," then where's your shirt while (F/N)'s fully clothed in a nightgown?"

I looked at my choice in clothing and remembered I was still in the dress Perseus had made me so I didn't have to wear baggy sweatpants and my mourning hoodie; though I hadn't taken in the style of the dress when Perseus initially made it, Riley was right that it did look like a nightgown and the fact that I was wearing it while Seth was missing his shirt didn't help our case. Fuck me and call me Aro, this wasn't good. I said from where I sat, "Seth's a werewolf, and when he shifts, his clothes get ruined, thereby leaving him naked when he shifts back. When he shifted probably an hour ago, someone had jean shorts ready for him to put on and no shirt, which is why he's missing his. As to why I'm wearing this dress, I was in a bad situation and had on sweatpants and a baggy hoodie. One of Jason's coven mates made this for me using his ability so I didn't have to constantly remember the pain."
