"Hi," I chirped

"Ah, I see you're enjoying Thanksgiving," He teased, I could hear the smile in his voice.

"How are you? How's Nisa? And papa?" I asked

"I, Papa, and mom all of us are fine. We had a little dinner yesterday night, and surprisingly mom didn't create a scene, neither said anything about you not coming," he said

"Well, I'm just glad that she didn't ruin the holiday for you," I said, "Ah, that reminds me, I'm planning to spend Christmas with Levi and his family. And for the new year, we teenagers have decided to drive to California. Wanna tag along?"

"A road trip to California? Can't say no, little sister," he laughed

"I knew you'd say that, but wanted to—"

Someone yelled, halting me mid-sentence.

Not Tony. Cayden.

Tony screamed. Not at me.

He screamed for Nisa. For help.

"HURRY UP YOU MOTHERFUCKERS!" He yelled.

"Nisa, it's fine, it's going to be alright. Just breathe, okay, baby girl? Breathe," he said so tenderly that made my heart clench.

"Yeah, that's my girl, breathe in and out," I heard another voice speaking with such tenderness and affection that it made me want to cower in the corner for not being there with my sister.

Cayden.

It was Cayden.

Nisa's boyfriend.

I want to kill myself for not being there with her right now. I want to kill myself for not knowing that Cayden still stuck around, that he was there with her and I wasn't. Her own sister wasn't there with her.

"Tony," I gasped

"She's awake, she's awake, she's fucking looking at me with those big blue eyes of hers," He said as if he couldn't believe it.

And I couldn't feel myself as I fell on my knees, my phone still clutched in my hand as tears spilled down my face. Happy tears.

My Nisa, my sister was awake.

Even knowing that there is a big possibility of her hating me, the weight on my shoulders got lifted off. My chest felt full and relieved. Awake. My sister was awake.

"Nia..." she called, her voice was hoarse.

Oh, gods.

Five months. I hadn't heard her voice for five months four days.

I cried. Sobbed. Gasping for air.

She was awake. And talking.

My sister...

A pair of arms hauled me to them, making my face burry in a hard chest as I sobbed uncontrollably. I could hear his chest rumbled as he talked with Tony, but couldn't process what he was saying.

I concentrated on my breathing and tried to calm down, but more and more tears roll down my face as Nisa's voice rang in my head.

"Shh, sweetheart, it's okay," Levi pulled me on his lap. He rocked me gently as he ran his hands through my hair, "I got you, baby, I got you,"

"I—I have to see her," I choked.

"I know, Cielo, I know," He murmured, "We will leave right away,"

I wiped my tears and pulled. I met his warm brown eyes, "It's okay, we can leave in the morning,"

"Bullshit," He said, and hauled me up, "Come on, get our bags  and get ready I'll go inform the others downstairs,"
