「there's things that i could say but hear in my way, i want to let you know that it's all okay.」

it was truly a lot for jongho to take in but so far he's come into terms that yeosang, his friend and maybe possible crush, is a half vampire and half human hybrid who has lived for over 600 years and is currently being housed by two vampires that act as his adoptive parents, one of which happened to be his professor.

after a lengthy talk in the secluded area of the library, yeosang offered to take him out for dinner and maybe some bingsu, despite the cold weather jongho accepts as it might be a good way to get to know yeosang more.

he can't help but see seonghwa in a different light, especially during class, even yunho noticed how much he had been staring and jokingly saying that he's looking as if lasers were gonna come out of his eyes and bore through his skull, he apologizes to his hyung for his behavior before paying attention to the topic.

as the day came to an end, he parted ways with yunho, telling him he was going out for dinner with yeosang

of course, yunho had some insinuations and tells him to have fun but not before slipping a condom into the pocket of his winter coat much to jongho's embarrassment and throwing it right back at yunho's back just as yeosang arrives, offering his hand much like a gentleman

"seonghwa is letting me use his car because hongjoong is picking him up." he smiles at jongho much to yunho's squealing and not-so-subtly elbowing him

"and yunho, i'll have him home before curfew, make sure he has a nice night." yeosang politely says, the taller brushes it off "don't worry about his curfew, he can always stay at his aunt's place, just have fun." he ruffles both of their hairs before bidding them goodbye.

"shall we?" yeosang holds his glove covered hand out for jongho to hold "of course, where would you want to go?" the younger asks, yeosang shrugs, telling him to choose what he's craving because tonight is on him

"so, like a date?" jongho jokes, it made yeosang giggle "it can be," despite the smiles

he noticed how yeosang displayed a tinge of sadness in his eyes at the suggestion and he felt awful because he knows yeosang had just gone out of a relationship

"don't worry about me, i'm just in two places at once at the moment but i refrain letting it spoil our night, we have a lot to catch up on."

they find themselves inside of a cozy restaurant, jongho was hankering for something hearty and he ends up choosing a place where he said sold the best galbi jjim, yeosang fulfilled his wish and they were now in a private area thanks to yeosang even though jongho argued with him about it.

"do you plan on eating me as well?" jongho laughs nervously after the waitress served them the food, yeosang feigned offense as he put his hand on his chest and gasping "would you want me to?" jongho wonders for a moment before getting hit by a piece of lettuce

"i'm not going to harm you, i never will." yeosang points out as he put some meat on jongho's plate "have you considered- oh gosh, i had a nosebleed when i was with you!" he covers his mouth at the realization and he connected the dots

"oh my god, is that why you took time off school for weeks?" yeosang swallows the food that was in his mouth before talking

"jongho, your scent-"

"what about it? what do i smell like?" he asks curiously, it amused yeosang that he wasn't even showing any sign of fear

"like the sweetest candy ever made, hence why i found you quite alluring when we first met, i found it hard to control myself at first since even though i was satiated that day, i almost went into a frenzy when i caught your scent." jongho's eyes widen as he leans furthermore on the table as if he wasn't in front of a blood-sucking creature

"did you want to have a taste?" yeosang blushes as out of context it sounded a little sexual but he nods, being honest was slowly lifting the weight off his shoulders

"so, what happened when i got that nosebleed?" he asks curiously before swallowing a mouthful "i bit my own wrist and i stabbed the cushion of the divan just to i can restrain myself from hurting you," jongho tilts his head, he was oblivious to that as he thought that yeosang was just stirring in his sleep

"so when seonghwa came in, he actually smelled the blood?" yeosang nods, explaining that when seonghwa took him away from jongho, he had sank his teeth into his chest to control himself and that after he left, he had a glassful of blood and some cookies which surprisingly made jongho coo "wait, blood?"

"animal blood," he clarifies before helping himself to another bowl of rice "i was raised to only drink that of a human's but when i met seonghwa, i saw that there was another way of living where i don't have to kill, i've only switched a couple of months ago as i don't want to be a monster anymore." jongho scrunches his brows, assuring him that he wasn't one

the latter scrunches his nose at it and jongho insisted that he isn't one "well, hongjoong described it as a "vegetarian" lifestyle." he uses air-quotes at the word while drinking the ice cold soda

"i had to wear contacts when i first met you, i had deep red eyes then because i fed on human blood, gradually it became brown with little gold spots, i cried the day you told me because i didn't even notice that they had changed." yeosang says with a proud smile as it was a milestone for him and his family.

after they've finished their dinner, yeosang ordered bingsu for himself while jongho opted for a fluffy cheesecake as bingsu would just give him a cold.

"so, is there like a vampire royalty? am i going to get hunted because i know your kind exists?" when yeosang shakes his head, jongho sighs in relief

"my father is a highborn, making him a high-ranking vampire and they never really care if people were to know about our existence, it all depends on the vampire if they want to keep their identity in wraps by having different aliases."

he was truly interested by how yeosang could have been raised, he was technically royalty among the vampires but maybe his status as a hybrid complicated it or maybe he was deemed as a breakthrough

"all they care about is knowledge, advancements, we never really view humans as someone who is below us."

his perception of vampires changed for jongho, he always thought that they were just some soulless monsters but yeosang and his family was a telltale sign that they were just like them, only that they were immortal.

"when does seonghwa and hongjoong come into play?" jongho had so many questions that yeosang was readily answering, knowing that jongho will not tell a soul

"seonghwa and i were schoolmates at inje, we separated when i had to go to namhae, i contacted him recently when i was in busan, it took me years to turn my life around but it's better late than never."

another surprise to jongho as now seonghwa was yeosang's teacher despite the years of familiarity.

"and hongjoong was transformed by seonghwa back in 2005, a terrible accident had happened that seonghwa smelled all the blood and turned him, they ended up falling in love and have loved each other ever since."

"how about you sang? i know you have someone in your heart but what happened?" yeosang wanted to answer the question but he shakes his head, biting on his bottom lip before looking at jongho again "that's a story for another time, i promise but as of now i've got to get you home."
