「it will rain, water flows, smooth water. it will rain, from my eyes.」

jongho was over at the park's residence, not for lessons of some sort but to see yeosang after he'd invited him to have a first date, something simple and in their humble abode as he promised jongho he will tell him more about himself and he wanted them to be alone.

"good evening jongho, i see why yeosang was all over the place with the cooking and the cleaning, little one blocked me out from reading his thoughts." hongjoong says smugly before moving aside to let him in and in a flash yeosang was in front of him

"i'm still not getting used to that," jongho says, putting a hand over his heart "sorry, just a little excited, this is the first date i've had in over 20 years." yeosang admits with a shy smile before turning to hongjoong

"can you keep your thoughts to yourself, please?" hongjoong promises but he wouldn't be able to help it if they get too loud

"then go hunt, take seonghwa too, wanna have some privacy." he pushes the platinum-haired vampire out of the way with jongho in hand.

hongjoong shakes his head as he chuckles, running up the stairs and into seonghwa's office.

"so, i was watching some videos on youtube and i made some pasta, i hope you're okay with that." yeosang says nervously, pulling the seat out for jongho

"you're indeed very old school." jongho comments as he looks at how yeosang set up the back porch, strings of lights hung up, some scented candles were burning, soft music playing accompanied by some cicadas that were up on the trees

"you could say that." yeosang opens a bottle of soda, poured some for himself inside a champagne glass and he filled jongho's glass too "pepsi, how classy of you." jongho teases before eating a mouthful of yeosang's cooking.

yeosang was nervous as to what jongho would think, a little on edge "did i do good?" he asks "of course, are you seriously doubting yourself?" jongho wipes the sauce that had gotten over his lips and yeosang sighed in relief

"a little bit, i always tend to cook for-" he stops himself and just starts eating, he promised himself that he'd tell jongho about his first love after they finish eating as he wouldn't want to spoil dinner over his tragic tales.

he ends up turning the topic to asking how he's doing in school, putting out jokes that he's told seonghwa to lay off on the hard quizzes and strictness while jongho told him that he shouldn't have as it wouldn't be fair that he will get special treatment, just because they've grown to like each other and possibly be more than just friends.

"is it bad that i want to kiss you again rather than eat this shortcake?" jongho comments before taking a mouthful

"don't you like it? i made it extra sweet just for you." yeosang bit on one of the strawberries before washing it down with the soda

"oh, it's very good but i'd rather kiss you again, couldn't stop thinking about it ever since our first kiss." yeosang shakes his head at how cheesy he can get but he lets it slide because he's got a soft spot for him in his odd heart.

right after what seemed to be a rush of finishing their dessert, yeosang found himself being slammed against the wall by jongho, giggling into the kiss and gasping when one of the paintings hung up on his bedroom wall had fallen

"are you sure you're human? you're quite strong," yeosang teases "i'm pretty sure, i just work out a lot." jongho carries him over to the bed, setting him down gently before lying down next to him

"so do all vampires have powers like you?" he asks, putting an arm over yeosang's torso "not all of them i suppose," he answers, laying his hand over jongho's

it was weird seeing his hand without his precious wedding ring but in order to move on he must get rid of anything that reminds him of san

"but hongjoong can read minds, i try my best to block him off but he still gets into me." jongho nods as that's what yeosang meant by telling hongjoong to keep his mind to himself.

"seonghwa has an enhanced ability of showing love because as he lay dying he thought about how much he loves his son," it was interesting to jongho, he's never heard of such a thing but most of all it was because he loves listening to yeosang's voice, moreso when he spoke like he wasn't part of the year they are in.

"and mingi, he has the ability of power transferal, meaning he can faintly gain my power if he ever chose to, he would have to come in physical contact with me to do it." jongho tugs at yeosang, making him shuffle up at bit so that their faces were levelled

"you are amazing, have i ever told you that?" jongho peppers his face with kisses, causing him to let out laughter.

"but there is something i would like to tell you about," yeosang's smile slowly falter as he brings his hand up to jongho's cheek

"as i've mentioned, this is my first time in years to be open to trying love again," the younger nods, telling him to go on "his name was choi san and he was the love of my life." jongho notices a bittersweet smile slowly form on yeosang's face

"he asked me out in the shittiest way possible but i accepted, he was the perfect gentleman, he did seem a bit arrogant at first, seeing as he's an heir but once i got to know him even more he was a sweetheart, always showered me with a whole lot of gifts, brought me to expensive restaurants, parties, we did a lot together." with wide eyes, jongho sees how yeosang's nail sharpens to a point, tracing at his veins but never putting any pressure

"and then around a year into our relationship, we got married, father adored him, loved how san was expected to become his father's successor." he takes his hands off jongho as he felt a tinge of anger and he didn't want to accidentally hurt him

"he promised me that after we got married and he's turned, we'll go some place peaceful, i had my entire life planned out but i think the amount of times we've talked about power and immortality skewed his perspective," yeosang sat up, he feels nothing but remorse coming from jongho, hence why he got more courageous

"we had a great night after we were wed, he had become immortal prior to our wedding but seeing as i'm part human, i still need my sleep and he really wore me out that night and when i woke up, he was nowhere to be found, he got what he wanted, immortality." he deadpans while jongho holds his hand, caressing the back of it with his thumb

"my father was so disappointed in me after hearing about it," yeosang curls up next to jongho, bringing their now clasped hands up to his lips, gently kissing his knuckles

"he used his ability on me for the first time in centuries, i felt like my entire being was on fire and all i could do is scream, he can make me feel pain through his mere gaze." the human couldn't bare to listen to it, he couldn't stomach that someone would hurt someone as passive as yeosang

"i eventually tore away from him and his cruel practices, never touched a single won that he puts in my bank account, found some solace in some cities before mustering up the courage to contact seonghwa after all these years-" yeosang was cut off when jongho kisses him, biting at his lips in the process

"no more sad stories, i want to change that yeosang and i promise i will keep your secret nor will i exploit you for it, i think it's time that we put a permanent smile on your face."

the half mortal was about to say something more when jongho cages him onto the bed, sharing deep and passionate kisses until god knows how long.
