RobotropolisI will find my way!
Into the Unknown!
Ah-ah-ah-ah....
Sonia woke up with a sudden start, only to bash her head against the underside of the top bunk above her. She winced and muttered under her breath about the lack of room.
"Ow."
"You okay, sis?" Manic asked from above her. She leaned her head to the side so she could look up at him, and he shrunk back at her angry scowl. It was definitely way to early for her to be up. The sun hadn't even come up yet.
"Next time, I get top," she stated, no questions asked, and slid on her stark red boots. Manic jumped down from his perch and sat beside her, putting on his own shoes.
"So you heard it too?" he asked gently. She nodded. Tears threatened to escape, but she blinked them away. It had been six years. She thought she was over what happened.
"Yes, and I recognized them. Well, two of them anyway. They sounded like Mother and...Sonic. Do you think he's still alive?"
Manic smiled at her and gave her a side hug, "Course I do, sis. I heard him, just like you did, and Mom too. But I can't tell who that third voice is."
"Me either," she sighed. Whoever it was must be important, or even related to them somehow, if they were able to hear him. "But it sounded like he was born to sing," she finished with a contented sigh as she remembered the sound of his voice. "I only wish we knew where to look for them. Ever since our amulets stopped--," she choked and hugged her triplet brother tightly. He returned the gesture and rubbed soothing circles on her back.
"Don't worry, sis, we'll find them."
Green Hill Zone
Sonic sat up on his bed with his legs crossed over each other, as he stared out the window. It was early morning, but the sun still had a few more hours before it would rise. In the room beside him, he could hear Tails' soft squeaks, his equivalent of a snore, and he sighed in deep thought. Sonia and Manic would've loved to meet him, he thought, He would be a new addition to the family. Well...he already is in my opinion. Man, I wish I could see those two again.
He hummed a tune he hadn't sung in forever, and that suddenly gave him an idea. The blue hedgehog quietly slid off his bed and rummaged through his messy shelves until his hand snagged on something. He pulled it out to reveal a crystal amulet in the shape of a guitar attached to a strand of leather. On the medallion the inscription read: Sonic. He smiled fondly at it before sliding it over his head and adjusting it around his neck so it wouldn't fall off.
And without another thought, he slid open his window and climbed out of his room on the second level using a nearby tree. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he ran, not breaking the sound barrier in case he woke someone up. He ran until he reached an isolated cliff facing the ocean.
"Let's hope it still works," he told himself and brushed his fingers across the medallion. There was a flash of light, and a triple-neck guitar appeared in his hands.
"All right!" he cheered and began to play.
Space Colony Ark
Shadow cautiously crept into the closed off laboratory. Part of him still felt like he was intruding, even though he was the only one left onboard the space station. The white ball of light hovered in the center of the room, as if it was waiting for him.
