Chapter 6: Your my end and my beginning

It's been almost a week since the little confrontation I had with Dimitri. Lissa and Eddie saw everything, including the kiss, and they never spoke of it again, which I was happy. Every time Lissa would have a session with Dimitri she would always send me to extra hours somewhere, I didn't complain. Dimitri needed time to think, he knew I was all for forgiving him, and it was up to him now. I wasn't going to push or even fight. His words were my last strike in battle for him. He would have to come to me this time. Today Lissa had assigned me guarding the front gate while she was with Dimitri. It was quite dull. The only thing I had to do was open the gate and check those who came in by making sure they weren't human or Strigoi. I had guard duty for about one hour. The barriers where open as I was letting in some people when I heard a noise. I instantly took my stake. I scanned the area on the other side of the wards and didn't see anything until a human walked up to me. I quickly placed my stake back in its place. I was going to have to use the cover story that we use with humans. I was about to speak, but she beat me to it.

" Save it, Mongrel, I come at the request of your father," she said as she placed the packet on the floor on the other side of the wards and quickly left.

" Why does the old man always do that," I thought to myself as I passed the wards and quickly scanning the area before I took the packet.

I closed the gates and quickly went to see what the packet contained. I opened it and the letter said...

"There are people after you because of Belikov. I advise you not to leave the wards. With love, your old man," it said.

I stood quiet about it as I smelled something familiar. The smell of cigarettes, Adrian, was near. He quickly found me, and I smiled at him. Adrian needed someone better for him, which wasn't me. He needed someone who could settle down and have a family like he always wanted. I knew that with my profession, I didn't meet those standards. He smiled at me as he leaned in and gave me a small tender kiss.

" Little Dhampir, how do you feel about accompanying me to a family dinner?" He said with his sexy smile.

I looked at him, and I instantly groaned.

" Why do I have to go?, you know I don't like those type of stuff," I said.

His smile grew wider because he knew that I don't like them.

" Baby do it for me; it's essential for me that you attend as my date. You know I don't like hanging out with my family members ever since my aunt's murdered, the Ivashkov family isn't much a whole. I need you," Adrian begged with his beautiful eyes.

I tried looking away from those eyes; why did everyone know that it was my weakness when people begged.

" Fine, I'll go," I said at him.

"Thank you so much, I talked to my mother stylist, and she designed a dress for you which should be in your room now. I'll be at your place around 7ish so we can leave. I talked to Lissa, and she agreed to let me borrow you as my guardian for the event because its outside of court," he told me as he gave me a soft hug.

We hugged for a while, but I wasn't comfortable, the only arms I would feel comfortable in and melt in were Dimitri's arms. But I couldn't think of it; I already said what I needed to say. I promised myself I wouldn't fight for him. Adrian leaned in and gave me a gentle kiss. At first, I didn't react to it, but after I did. Adrian was a good kisser but not like Dimitri. Our little kiss instantly cut short as I pulled away.

As we walked to my place hand in hand, people would give us dirty looks. Especially to me since I'm dating an Ivashkov, which before his aunt didn't like me. No, Ivashkov dated a Dhampir. Adrian walked happily as he didn't care what other people thought of us. We got to my place. I was about to open the door when one of Lissa's chefs came to me. Her name was Faith, I think.
