Summer

Day 11: puddle kingdom

After lunch was finished you had the rest of the day to figure out since practice was canceled due to all the rain. You peak out the window in the girls room to see the puddles growing on the ground. As a kid you would splash in puddles all the time with Tooru and play in the rain together. that seems like forever ago now. You walk over to your bag and grab a jacket with a hood on it and put it on, as it had become a little chilly from the cold weather and rain out side.

You then decided to walk out in the hall to find something to do as you couldn't find any of the girls. suddenly a hand grabs yours and get pulled back into someone, looking up you see that it was Kuroo.

"what is it" you ask him confused, only for him to give you a smirk before pulling you down the hall. Soon enough you made it towards the end of a hallway where you could see Bokuto, Akaashi, Kenma and Hinata waiting for your two.

"wait whats going on" you ask kuroo once again wanting to know why he grabbed you in the first place.

"were going outside, duh" he says back making you pause.

"why would we do that its raining out." you say back to him as he opens the door.

"You said you loved the rain earlier so whats the harm in having some fun in it." he says back with a smile as Bokuto starts to push you out the door following the other boys you feel heat rush to your face you didn't think Kuroo would remember that. 

You quickly put up your hood as you get pushed out, the other boys seemed to be all dressed similarly in shorts and jackets, all of you were getting soaked but you couldn't help but smile as the rain fell on you. you looked up at the sky let the rain fall of your face it was refreshing. you let out a small laugh as you let your self do a small spin your hood had fallen off already and your hair was getting wet. you look to see the boys having fun too. Bokuto and Hinata were more soaked then you from jumping in the puddles on the ground while the other watched. 

you quickly ran over and joined the two boys jumping in the puddle in between them causing them to jump in the puddles next to you absolutely soaking each other. But it was so much fun, you couldn't help but to laugh as even Kuroo joined in on the jumping. suddenly you feel yourself being lifted up you to see Bokuto was the one picking you up and placing you on his shoulders.

"All hail the rain king and queen!" he shouts making you laugh 

"hey! who made you the king Bokuto!" Kuroo shouts back at him which starts a mini agrument between them.

"Wait but i want to be the king too!" Hinata joins in making you laugh.

"why don't you just let (y/n) decide, shes the queen after all" kenma pipes in from the covered area nearby, already sick of being out in the rain but not wanting to go back in with out the rest of us. 

"Yeah (y/n) you decide!" Hinata agrees.

"okay (y/n) who do you pick?" Kuroo asked looking at you, you quickly think not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings well mostly Bokutos feelings you thought.

"uh well since Bokuto said hes the king first hes the king but the rest of you can be the rain princes." you say trying to make everyone happy.

"aww yeah! im the king Kuroo suck it!" Bokuto yells out making you laugh. 

Soon after the argument of who was going to be the king of puddle / rain kingdom as you and boys decided to call it a day, you all realized you were quite cold and wet from playing in the rain. you all quickly made it inside and go your separate ways to dry off. you quickly change into a pair of sweatpants and change your shirt and put on a nice warm hoodie and dry shoes before putting your hair up. 

after changing you quickly made your way to the kitchen to some hot chocolate to warm your self up. You also decided to make some for the boys too. you let the milk heat up and quickly looked out into the hall to find the other boys, you luckily see Hinata.

"Hinata! come here!" you shout getting his attention.

"Oh hey (y/n) whats up?" he asks his hair still dripping wet like yours.

"can you go get Akaashi, Bokuto, Kuroo and Kenma if they're all done changing and have you all come here i'm making you guys something" you tell him happily hopping he would do this for you.

"You got it (y/n)! Ill be right back!" he says back quickly before running off to get the boys. You return to the stove and quickly finish making the hot chocolate. You grab enough mugs for everyone and fill each one up before taking them out to the dinning area. luckily for you the boys were just coming in. you set out a mug for each of you and sat down. all of you had soaked hair but you all seemed to be happy which made you happy.

You all enjoyed the hot chocolate as the argument about who was the true rain king continued between the boys or mostly between Bokuto and Kuroo if you were being honest. "I don't think its fair that Bokuto gets to be the king while clearly i'm the better option for it" Kuroo begins.

"well that's to bad you think that Kuroo, because  she already chose me to be her king not you so suck it" Bokuto replies back to him while giving him the finger from across the table.

you let out a laugh "If you to don't stop arguing about it ill make Akaashi, Kenma and Hinata joint kings and the both of you will be stuck as the two princes" you tell them making them shut up for the time being on the subject. 

Luckily you were able to finish up your hot chocolate with the boys before you had to start dinner prep, you quickly take all the mugs back to the kitchen but you smiled while doing so, you had a great day and a great story to tell your mom when she texted you next.
