Zavian
I stared at him in shock as he stared at the fire.
"What..." I felt dumbfounded then and he sighed.
"This is why I didn't want to tell you."
I walked over to him then and bent down and stared up at him. His hazel eyes were dull, the fiery red tinge and he frowned.
"You mean to tell me....that...that what we know is all a lie?" He nodded.
"My..." He shook his head. "My parents sacrificed themselves to ensure it, to replace themselves in history which altered everything to how it is now, to give mage a chance. They were losing, Zavian, they were losing and that is why they..." He sighed and I took his hand then and shook my head.
"I didn't realise." I watched his face. "I can see why you don't want them to have it. That island is all you have of your parents, you deserve it for their blood made it what it is." His jaw ticked and I stood and pushed him back in his chair. I straddled him and his lips parted, eyes wide and doe like I offered a small smile. "I trust you, Marius," I whispered as I settled on top of him, I brushed my thumb beneath his eyelid then. "Whatever you decide to do, I'm behind you a hundred and ten percent."
His hands trailed up my thighs to my waist and he gave a small smile, I pulled him to me and hugged him. I didn't expect him to just bend over and help them, I didn't want to force him into such a corner especially after just finding out how his parents died, who they actually were after years of having no real recollection but feeling somewhat alright with it.
I knew Marius was a good person and would eventually do the right thing. I allowed him to hold on to the little he had left of them, I wouldn't push and in the process I would work on a way to push forward, to prepare for the worst. Until then, I would try to enjoy what little time I had to with him as best as I could.
Pulling away, I held his jaw, pulling him to my face, I pressed my lips softly against his own, enjoying the vibration of his touch, the tingle which set fire to my veins and awoke a burning love in my heart for him.
I wanted to pull away when he pushed forward, stopping me and deepening out kiss, it was harsh, full of passion and saddens. He was hurting and I could feel it, he poured his sorrow into me and I took it all, I felt myself rise as he hocked his hands under my thighs and moved us towards the bed. He laid me down, pulling away to breathe I gazed up at his glassy eyes and a drop hit my cheek. I blinked surprised and reached for his face.
"I love you, Zavian." His voice croaked and my brows furrowed, my lips dipped into a frown.
"I love you too." I whispered pulling him down to me. We stripped down and through the night I held him, kissing gently and passionately, we only held one another as feelings consumed us and brought us closer.
I attached myself to him. From the moment we woke to the rest of the day I kept him close. Only at my board meeting did I leave him alone and even after I found him sleeping in our room.
I watched his naked and scared back for a moment before I stripped and entered the bed from behind him, I slipped beneath the blankets, staring at his back I slowly and gently placed my hand on his waist, inching closer I placed soft kisses on his back, my lips grazing lightly over the healed scars and he shivered.
