Dinner happened and I am totally drowning with a lot of brags from my family.

"So, how're my busy wizards?" Dad asked.

Wizards, dad is so fond of calling us Wizards since Andre and I are both addicted to Harry Potter when we were younger. Of course, for Halloween, we even consider it a part of our family tradition. We dressed up and Dad always loves playing Dumbledore's part. It makes him feel like he is Santa sometimes and I find it funny.

"The investment that I connected with the W companies are doing great. Too bad, I don't have to marry off one of their daughters."

Our parents laughed at Andre's joke.

"Well, consider it a chance to finally date someone who is absolutely your choice. We wouldn't want you to be in an arranged marriage, Andre." Mom said.

"Why don't you speak, Amelie?" Andre said at sinipatan ko siya for that. Kasi ipapasok na naman niya ako sa hot seat. I hate my brother tonight.

I smiled at my parents kasi alam kong and labas nito ay magtatanong lang kung kumusta ang love life ko because my parents love to have grandchildren na.

Ma, Pa, everyone—busy pa sa pagsusuot ng black leather jacket ang husband ko.

"I think she is in a relationship," Andre said while sipping his wine.

"You are not dragging me, Andre. I will arrange a marriage for you if you are going to continue this."
All of them laughed.

"Sure! I am so single." Andre said.

Lahat nalang napatawa habang kumakain ng dinner.

Ganito kami every time may dinner.

Hopefully, our parents are now always available since they are becoming senior citizens and felt the audacity to finally rest sa bahay. Kasi it's our Andre turn to make them feel taken care of naman.

"Anak, you don't have to pressure yourself sa mga bagay-bagay lalong-lalo na tungkol sa pamilya. Alam naman naming nang Mama niyo na may oras para diyan. Pero kaya nga sabi ko—hindi lang sana masyadong matagal."

Here come the waves of laughter again.

Dad and Andre talked more about the Business.

Since Dad is going to hold a shareholder's meeting next week, they are more on business talks lately. And Andre's training has advanced. Hindi ko alam kung anong mayroon talaga na ganap since hindi ako masyadong inclined sa business.

Andre Sandross is going to be a Chief Executive Director soon.

So I took my part na magpahinga na sa room ko.

Maaga pa ako bukas.

"Amelie?" Mom called me nang papasok na sana ako sa kwarto ko.

"Mom? What is it?"

Isinara ko pabalik ang pintuan.

She hugged me.

Suddenly.

"Can I talk to you?" Sabi ni Mommy.

I nodded and I figured na parang hindi sa labas kami nang kwarto mag-uusap. I think she wanted to talk in private and that is the part na nagdududa ako kung bakit kami nagtatago.

"Amelie, I am so proud of you." Sabi niya.

She cupped my face.

I smiled and held her hands.

"I am also proud, Mommy. What's wrong?" I asked.

"I just think that I should tell you how much I really am proud of you. It's just that you are so busy at hospital and I think, nakukulangan ako sa pag-aalaga sayo because you always come home late these days."

I chuckled. "Mom, it's fine. Babawi ako next time."

She hugged me again.

"Promise me, no matter what happens, you'll stay strong."

I smiled.

Lumayo ako sa yakap and this time I cupped her cheeks.

"Yes, mommy."

After that, she wanted me to sleep early kasi daw malalim na daw mata ko. Yeah, I do need a long rest for tonight.

Nagising ako ng 5:00 AM.

I took a quick bath and prepared my stuff.

By 6:45 AM, Mom prepared breakfast already and I saw Dad sipping his coffee while reading some articles on his tab.

I saw Andre drive away but with his car and a personal driver. He is wearing a formal attire and I think he is going to be busy simula ngayon. He also has a lot of bodyguards na nakabuntot. I don't understand why pero siguro necessary lang talaga? I wish my brother na magiging safe anytime.

"Mom, dad? Bye. Alis na po ako." I said.

Umalis ako at nagmamaneho na.

Since it's too early pa, I decided to buy coffee na din on the way.

"Dear, I think that you should get yourself a boyfriend."

"That is so witty of you, Mrs. Santineo. I just really prefer being alone sometimes." I answered as I took the payment receipt from her and she handed me my order which is coffee.

"Well, you are so in a perfect age to consider marriage." She said.

I just smiled at her and took a glimpse on my watch. I am so confused why I always hear people saying that I should get a boyfriend.

Ano naman ang magagawa ko?

Should I order one from Shoppee? Lazada? Baka meron sa mall. Hindi naman kasi madali.

Actually, kung ma-oorder ko lang si Bhryle, nagawa ko na.

Pero kung hindi man ako bibigyan nang sign na magiging sa akin ang crush ko- then fine.

Sinuot ko ang earphone ko and listened to very loud music.

Any music will do basta may beat para di ko madinig ang mga boses sa paligid.

Minsan kasi it is very helping na may music.

"WATCH OUT!"

Napasigaw ako matapos may dumaan na motorbike sa harap ko.

I literally just froze kasi ang bilis ng takbo and I am just one inch away nung motorbike na dumaan. Napasipat ako sa motor and eyed the driver pero yung likod lang niya ang nakita ko.

"OH MY GOD!" I said after all that commotion. Napahawak ako sa dibdib ko.

This heartbeat is also alarming.
Hindi to mabuti sa puso ko.

Nag-sitinginana ang mga tao sa paligid.

"I am fine." I smiled at all those wide eyeballs around.

Pero napansin ko na hindi sila sa akin nakatingin.

Nakatingin sila sa likod ko.

Ha?

Pero nang mapa-lingon naman ako sa gilid ay muntik na akong masagasaan ulit ng may panibagong motorbike na naman ang dumaan sa harapan ko.

I took off my earphones.

Masama pala talaga na maglalakad minsan ng mayroong earphones.

THEY ARE LITERALLY DRIVING OVER THE SIDEWALK.

And I am pissed.

I eyed the driver and our eyes met.

It happened so fast.

He wasn't wearing a helmet.

But I know he saw me.

And I know who he was.

It was Bhryle.
