Joshua's POV:
I walk back into the room where everyone else is and see them still dancing.
"Josh where's Kensie?" Lauren asks walking up to me.
When she looks at me in the eyes she could tell I had been crying.
"Are you okay? What happened?" She asks hugging me.
"Kensie just told me she just wants to be friends. She told me we need to try and move on from each other." I say shrugging my shoulders, I feel like I'm about to start crying again.
"What? Why would she do that?" Lauren asks pulling away from me.
"Because she saw me and Olivia kissing. She told me I should give Olivia a chance." I say.
"Where did she go?" Lauren asks.
"I don't know. She was really hurt when I told her I didn't want to be just friends anymore." I say.
"Oh wow" She says rubbing her forehead.
"I don't know what to do." I say.
"Do you want to give Liv a chance?" She asks.
I thought about it for a minute. Do I want to give Olivia a chance? I mean, yeah she's cute but Kensie is too. But Kensie wants me to move on for some reason.
"I mean, I guess I could try it with Liv." I say.
"Okay then, go over to her and ask her out." She says.
"What if Kensie gets hurt?" I ask.
"Listen Josh, yes Kensie is upset right now. But it was her idea for you to move on. She can't get mad or upset if you move on because it was her own doing." Lauren says.
"I guess you're right." I say.
"Let's put it this way. If Kensie never showed up here, would you give Olivia a chance?" She asks.
"Yeah" I say.
"Then go give her a chance." Lauren says pushing me towards Olivia.
When I'm close to Liv, I turn to Lauren and see her giving me a thumbs up.
"Hey Liv..." I say.
"Hey Josh, what's up?" She says turning towards me.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to go out on a date with me?" I ask.
"Sure! When?" She says smiling.
"How about tomorrow after we record the songs?" I ask.
"Tomorrow's perfect!" She says smiling.
Kensie's POV:
As soon as I got home I changed into my pajamas, got ice cream out of the freezer, and turned on High School Musical 3.
I check the time and it's almost midnight. Nobody's back yet, I guess they're still having the dance party.
It gets to the part where Troy is a Gabriella's new school and they are singing Can I Have This Dance.
"Now why can't I have something like that?" I ask the TV.
The door opens and I see Lauren with Sofia come into the apartment.
"What did you just say?" Lauren asks while laughing.
"Nothing." I say turning back to the TV.
"Really? Cause it sounded like you said why can't I have something like that." Sofia says smiling at me.
"Okay fine. I did say that." I answer.
"Kens, why did you tell Josh you just want to be friends? I know you still like him." Lauren says sitting next to me.
"Because I can tell he likes Olivia, if I never showed up he wouldn't have even gave it a second thought." I say shrugging my shoulders.
"I mean yeah, but he still likes you." Sofia says.
"It's just for the best that we move on from each other. I mean I haven't been able to go on a date with any other guys for a year because of Josh. I need to try and move on." I say pausing the movie.
"Are you guys still going to be friends at least?" Sofia asks.
"He said he needs time to think about it, but I doubt he'll talk to me for a while." I say.
"I'm sure he'll talk to you!" Lauren says.
"I don't know. He was really hurt when I told him I just wanted to be friends." I say.
"He seemed happy when we all left." Sofia says.
I turn to look at Sofia confused and I see Lauren doing some sort of motion with her hand like she was telling Sofia to stop talking about it.
"Why, what happened?" I ask.
"Josh asked Olivia out." Lauren says.
"He did?!" Sofia shouts.
"Yes Sof, now shut up. We need to be here for Kensie right now." Lauren says.
"Are you okay with that, Kensie?" Lauren asks me.
"I mean yeah. That's what I wanted him to do anyways." I say shrugging my shoulders.
"Okay, but just know if you ever get upset about it you can talk to us." Sofia says hugging me.
"I know. Thanks guys but I think I'm going to bed. We have to get up early to record the songs." I say.
"Okay goodnight. We love you!" They both say.
"Love you too." I say getting up and walking to my room.
I get in my bed and try to go to sleep because it's already 12:30, I can't fall asleep.
I get up and grab my guitar and songbook and start working on a song.
"It's all on me, it's my mistake
I said "I don't love you" a little too late
But I guess there ain't ever a right time
And I don't know why it's called a goodbye
Go run my name into the ground
Tell everyone you know just how
How I slammed the door on our forever
But I promise you it's for the better
I hope you find what you were looking for
I hope your heart ain't hurting anymore
And you get moving on, all figured out
And you don't hate me somehow

Joshua's POV:
It's almost one in the morning and I can't sleep. I can't help but keep thinking about Kensie next door. I wonder what she's doing? I wonder is she's asleep.
I get up from bed to grab my songbook and guitar. I start working on a new song to try and clear my head.
"Who knew this heart could break this hard
