I slowly backed away from the door just to find myself ramming into the body of someone.
Just as I was about to scream the figure clamped his hand over my mouth.

"We needn't draw attention to ourselves now do we Blade?" It was Damien.
Thank Ira.

I turned to face him and was immediately greeted by that signature smirk he was accustomed to wearing.

"Are you trying to give me a cardiac arrest?" I whispered.

"I hope not." He said.
He took my dainty hand into his much larger one.
"Let's go somewhere quiet."
***************
Damien and I were in my room.
I spent a longer period of time taking in the atmosphere of my room.
It was cold, empty.
Like it was missing something.
A warm hand ran down my back bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Let me in Blade." Damien whispered softly into my reddened ear.

"What did you place into my hand?" I asked.

He stalked over to my bed.
"Mind if I sit?" He asked.

"When did you get manners?" I teased.

He rolled his eyes and took his place on my bed.
"It's ice."

I reached into my pocket and fished around for the cold object given to me.
It was ice.

I shifted my gaze from the ice to Damien to discover that his eyes were already focused on me.
"Why would you give me ice?"

"It's not just ice." He said
"It's Cariala ice."

"Which is?" I asked.

"It's ice given from one lover to another. And it turns red if the second party's feelings are mutual."

I brought the ice out.

"And thankfully you feel the same." Damien said with a smirk.

Heat rose to my cheeks and I turned away.
Why?
Because he was killing me. That's why.

"Awwn. Blade no need to get all shy." He teased.

I shoved him.
"I hate you." I said glaring at him.

"I love you too."
Unsurprisingly, my heart skipped a beat.
I guess I was still getting used to being in love with someone.

"Where did you get it from?" I asked.

"From my mother. Of course not directly. Olga gave it to me."

Olga....
Olga was the maid who told Damien about his mother.

"She said, my mother that is, that I am to give it to the girl that I love most. And seeing as there really is no other person. I gave it to you."

"The girl you love most." I said.

"Well in my case it's the only girl who I love. Seeing as I'm not much of a lover boy."

I rolled my eyes.

"Can you blame me? How am I expected to not fall for you?"

I shrugged.
"Am I expected to answer that for you?"

"You just don't know how captivating you are, do you?"

"Mostly because I'm not." I said tucking a lock of my gold hair behind my ear.

Damien shook his head and scoffed.
"I don't even have the strength to argue with you right now."

I shrugged.
"Either way, it's not as though you would have won."

"That's debatable." He whispered.
*********************************
I woke up to find myself trapped in the arms of another.
With a drawing breath I discovered that it was Damien.
Looking out the window I saw that it was dark out.
Which was impossible considering the time that Damien and I arrived.
Not really remembering what happened the night before I decided to fall back asleep.
