My thoughts flutter restlessly
Like that of a clipped-winged butterfly.
Time freezes when you're close and
Its as if the world stops spinning on its
axis.
You gave me lilacs when we first met
To symbolise our first love. I still have
Them even now - dried and shrivelled,
But still as ever magnificent.
You're too optimistic, you know?
I'm the opposite. Your mind is often clear,
And if I were to take a picture of it it would
Look like a lake, I suppose.
With pristine clear waters and shiny skies.
Mine would be a nightmare.
A cluttered framework of speed boats
churning the water murky. Streamlines would
fail to disappear, and even if they went away,
It wouldn't be for long before returning again.
Thats why I love you.
You keep my speedboats away and the
waters of my mind clear.
