Levi's POV
"That's enough!" My voice rose in the house as the news were quickly revealed. The story of Sasha Braus came onto the news, and how the police were already talking to people who had seen her last and who she last contacted. It wouldn't be long before they start investigating students. "Mikasa, do you not see what's happening?"
Blankly staring into me, I knew she didn't want to know. After all... I was just like her.
Hanji put her hands on my shoulders, attempting to relive the stress. "Levi, calm down... please..." She says softly, trying to lure me away from Mikasa. "Please... let's have a private talk."
Like a little puppy on a leash, I followed her into the kitchen. By then, Mikasa had changed the TV station. She was faintly watching something- though I knew that it was something to just pass the time.
"Levi, why don't you go easy on her?"
I growled softly, looking towards her. I could see her eyes were pure... soft... everything that I fell in love with. "We asked her to not do anything stupid. More or less to kill someone. You remember how much trouble it was back then?"
"Everyone thought that you were a monster. But you're not... it's your instinct that makes you into a bad person. Levi, you got lucky..." Hanji says, kissing my lips ever so gently. "But be calm to her. What if she messes up?"
"Are you advocating for her?" My voice was raising... and Hanji calmly stared at me. "Hanji... you know it better than I do... we're cursed... I'm sorry..."
She wrapped her arms around me, pulling me closer. "Not all curses are meant to be curses. Yes... you've done some wrong when we were teens... but look... I'm here. What did we promise? We promised that I would never leave you, and in return, you wouldn't kill anyone. No one was around to dictate that but us. Levi... just be calm and gentle."
My head collapsed onto her shoulder as I began to cry. "Hanji... what is wrong with our family...? She's becoming... becoming more like me... what if she gets caught... and I get caught as well...? Then what...?"
"No matter what, Levi... I'll always be here for you. And I will be there for Mikasa. I'll have a chat with her about the killings. You need to focus on the classwork for now. Let me handle it. There's a reason why you chose me- despite all the other girls you could've picked."
I nodded my head as she slowly moved out of my grasp. The warmth she had slowly disappeared as she walked away. I knew exactly what Mikasa was going through... but I couldn't handle it. I saw how heartbroken Hanji was when she knew I killed people for her. Now... if it was repeating again with Eren... how would he feel? Accepting? Forgivable? Angry? What?
I... I need to stop it... before Hanji gets involved too much.
