Agent Ritchard's POV

Once the class was dismissed, we held the Arlert boy. A boy of brunet and emerald eyes stared off at Arlert. But he was quickly lead away by that Ackerman girl. The boy had to be Eren Jaeger... the suspect of all cases. But that Ackerman was also a suspect. A duo.

"Arlert," Lopaz began with a smile on his face, "can you tell me the atmosphere here lately? Rumors... or anything like that. Anything can help with our case."

The boy of blonde hair nodded his head with his eyes sparkling. "A-Anything of course... well... other than the rumors that Mikasa Ackerman..." The tone he had when he spoke those words... almost like that girl was a forbidden topic to speak of it. As if he would've been judged harshly. Something wasn't right...

Lopaz took note of this and began to dig. "What about Mikasa?"

Shying away from my partner, Arlert turned away. "W-Well... I-I can't say anything bad... I-I can't... I just can't..."

Reaching out and gripping his shoulder with confidence, I smiled gently. "Armin Arlert, we will ensure that no one else gets this information. It's okay. You're safe here, Armin. Tell us about Mikasa. Something is holding you back... and I need to know. We need to know. Don't you want to help us solve the case? Avenge those who were killed?"

It seemed to have knocked him back onto his feet. Confidence gripped him tightly and was never letting him go. His blue eyes shone bright with his heart being held out. "Mikasa's dating my friend, Eren. We all heard the rumors about her killing her parents when she was young... everyone seems to believe them... even we all think she killed Sasha... but Eren continued protecting her."

"Protecting how?" Lopaz asked, writing them down swiftly without even looking at his pad. "Every detail counts."

"Always... he always been saying that there was no proof about it. No proof she did a crime. That they were all just words and ruining her. That's why he went off to like her. To see how strong she was- despite everything. It was just weird... seeing that he disappeared when those bullies were killed..."

"Bullies?" That word peaked my interest. Knowing that the last few victims were bullies- it could crack the case open. "The young boys, you mean?"

Arlert replied with a head nod.

"Who did they bully?"

"J-Just about anyone... but really on me. Eren always fought them back... because he hated seeing people acting strong against people who they deemed weak. He always believe that... I don't know, he just has this hero feel. A little devoted and determined, but he's always been my friend."

Lopaz gave a chuckle, patting Arlert on the back. "No wonder... you didn't want to say anything bad about Mikasa because your best friend was dating her, huh?"

"Mhm... just anything weird with the Ackermans."

"What about them?" My eyebrow rose when I heard that. Whatever this boy was saying confirmed more and more about something fishy. Ackerman this, Ackerman that. Ackermans being surrounded by death. Yet none were ever prosecuted due to the lack of evidence. "What about the Ackermans that makes them weird?"

"M-Mrs. Ackerman always had an... insane smile on her face. Her crazed personality made her classes fun. Plus, she always helped struggling students. She even took an interest in me because whatever was thrown at me- I always answered them swiftly. That's why I was bullied... a teacher's pet."

"And Levi Ackerman?"

He shudders when I mentioned that very name. "O-Opposite of Mrs. Ackerman... he seems like he was gonna kill anyone at any notice! But he always seems to be nicer when Mrs. Ackerman is in the room. Once, he was going to give us a unit test until Mrs. Ackerman looked it over. She said something about it not being morally right or something like that... and Mr. Ackerman cancelled the test. He re-wrote it due to what Mrs. Ackerman thought was right."

Lopaz gave me a gleeful look- just like any other time he gives me that look when he makes a slight joke. "A puppy, huh?"

A smile was tugged at my lips. "Anyways, he's always like that? Acting so cruel and... inhumane? But nicer with Mrs. Ackerman?"

"That's right. I guess it's because she's his wife...?"

"Thank you, Arlert." Lopaz said just as he was folding up his notepad and putting his pen into his pocket. "I believe this helps a lot about our case. If needed," rummaging through his pockets, he pulled out this white card, "call me anytime. Anything you need to say- or just about whatever is going on in the school."

Arlert took the card and nodded. "C-Can I ask something else...?"

"Of course."

His eyes gazed at us, switching between the two of us. "W-Well... something else I remember about Mrs. Ackerman..."

My elbow soon nudged Lopaz- hoping he'll get the message. Being well-received, Lopaz took out his pad and paper and was ready to write. "Continue, Arlert."

"Rumors went around that she gets upset around this specific date... I believe... December 2nd... the upperclassmen claimed that whenever this date arose, she starts feeling depressed and doesn't feel motivated in the class. Mr. Ackerman always ended his classes early just to see what was wrong. I don't know why she would get upset... but lately, she's been upbeat. I doubt she'll be depressed about anything..."

"And why is that?"

"Well... word is that she's pregnant..."
