Eren's POV

"Of course not- I don't understand!" Hours of being in this isolated cell with nothing but questions seem to have gotten me mentally unstable. Hours ago, I watched Mikasa stab a guy and she had no remorse. I'm more surprised she didn't kill him... but I guess she kept her promise. "Why am I being held here? What's going on? Where are the Ackermans?!"

The woman in front of me- she was Agent Ritchard. She hasn't uttered a single word about what had happened. Just a few seconds ago, she walked into the room with nothing but a manila folder. This whole time, I've been doing nothing but asking questions. She never responded to them at all. Honestly, she was a bit scary about it all. Acting calm and collected.

"What's going on?"

My little rant ended when I noticed I wasn't getting any more answers. I shut my mouth, sighing heavily as my mind continued to swarm with more questions with each and every passing second. Leaning against my metal chair, I rested a few seconds before leaning against the metal table.

"Just... tell me what's going on... please..."

Soon enough, the agent took a seat and gently laid the folder onto the table. In the silence, she cleared her throat and opened it up. "Eren Christen Jaeger. You are 16 years old. Born on March 30th-"

"Why are you asking me of those?" I asked, getting enraged more and more. "Why does this matter with what happened? I was trying to sleep and- I don't know! Everything was all but simple. Mr. Ackerman was getting mad and I hear Mikasa in the house shouting something-"

"What happened is that we were having a chat with Hanji Ackerman. Her husband came out and attacked us- my partner is fine, thank you very much." Her cold tone was somewhat worse than Mr. Ackerman's. But this person in front of me... she was more human than Mr. Ackerman. Probably that's the reason it was scarier. "At that moment, Mikasa Ackerman ran out with you not that far behind. Mind telling us what happened."

What was this? A trick? What happens if I told the truth? Would I be putting Mikasa in danger for what I've done? And what if I lie? I can't tell what happens now... the truth... or lie? Which one would be right? What have we done to deserve this? What have I done? What have I done?

"Eren," she calls out to me and holds my hand, "please. Let's talk here. I want nothing else but answers. You want answers, I want answers. This is a win-win situation here."

Answers... life or death...

"Please."

"W-What do you want to know?"

The agent gave a gentle smile, but I knew her intentions was anything but that. "Everything about Mikasa."

"If... if I say anything about her, you need to promise me something."

Her eyes glinted with success. "If I can accomplish it, I can do something about it. But it's not a guarantee."

"What I want..." I say with a heavy sigh. "Mikasa, Mr. and Mrs. Ackerman... they don't get thrown into jail or serve any years. I don't want them to get hurt. Especially Mrs. Ackerman. Please. That's all I ask."

She was silent, leaning back in her seat. "That is up to the court to decide for their punishments. After all, we can connect multiple clues and events to these two, Eren. The 7 murders Levi Ackerman has committed within his high school years- almost brutal compared to Mikasa's. Mikasa has committed the same amount of kills as her uncle. Now do you see that?"

I remained silent, hearing that Mr. Ackerman had the face of a killer. He really did kill people...

"I cannot promise that- the court does."

"If you cannot promise it... I cannot say anything."

Agent's Ritchard's POV

"He's not breaking." I scoffed as I walked across the hall to see where Hanji Ackerman was calmly sitting. She never seemed to break at all. Though I could tell that she was really afraid of what would happen to this scandal. Most importantly, I assume, her baby. "How about with the Ackermans? The ones locked up?"

Lopaz groaned as he moved his shoulder a bit. Stubborn as well- took a few hours of rest and left the hospital after he was fixed up- stitches and all. "As I saw, they... they aren't good. The girl was whimpering all night- calling the boy's name. Now Levi- he's pretty terrifying. I'll be honest, looking at him was just deadly."

"Did he do anything or is this just you ranting?"

"He did actually do something. Put himself right into solitary confinement. He's pretty dangerous. Makes me wonder about what that Hanji said... about how she was protecting us and all."

Peaking my interest, I leaned over towards him and opened my mouth with curiosity hanging. "What did this Ackerman do?"

Lopaz shrugged his shoulder and winced. He made this noise that was just confusing and all. "He uh... a passing officer walked by and that Ackerman reached over and pulled the officer into the bars. He continued to fight with the other officers until we had to put him under and all. So we put him down in the isolated basement. When he recovers, no doubt he's gonna fight his way out."

My head shook when I heard this. "Idiot. The game's over..."

"He's desperate..." Lopaz shivered a bit. "Maybe we should take him to his wife."

"No." He shied away when I said that in the most stern tone. "Not at all. He attacked his wife with a knife on December 2nd. She lost her baby because of that. A woman like her doesn't deserve to have a life like that taken away in that way." I continued looking towards her, shaking my head when she refused to budge once more. "I need answers- quickly."
