Ashlynn POV
Once reality came back to me, I hurried and dialed Luke's phone number again. "Please, please, please pick up Luke." It started to ring, and ring. "Hey... What's up?" His voice calmed me, but he sounded of no worry. Which I found strange.
"Luke, Luke, are you okay? Where are y-" I was cut off by him.
"Just kidding. You got my voice mail. Leave a message!" He said. It was his voice mail. His voice mail.
Tears started to arrive in my eyes. I wiped them away and drove to his house. Once I got to Luke's house his car was no where in his drive way, except a black range rover. I'm assuming it's his mom. Maybe she knows?
I knock on the door, and in the matter of seconds a worried woman with red eyes opens the door. "Umm, uh, hi I-I'm Luke's girlfriend, d-do you know where he is?" I was nervous for some reason.
She immediatly grabbed my arm and pulled me into her house. She sat the both of us down at her table. "Hi, sorry I couldn't of met you at a better time. B-But Luke's he's in the hospital. I was just on my way there, do you wanna come?" She said in all one breath and suddenly tears were rolling down her cheecks. And mine too. I pulled her into a hug, and she hugged back.
"We should get going, dear" She spoke quietly to me and grabbed her keys and headed out the door.
Once we got into her car in silence my thoughts were all over the place. Why was Luke in the hospital? Did he do what I thought he did.
"D-Do you know what happend?" I asked, scared to know what happend. "They didn't say much on the phone, all they told me was that Luke's car crashed into a t-tree" She said. What, no. "D-Do you think Luke did it on puppose?"
"No, not that I know of. He wasn't depressed or anything. At least not that I know of. I think his car just spun out of control." Oh but he was. That's the thing, Luke was depressed. And she doesn't even know. But then again neither did I. Crazy what a smile can hide. You see... That's my fear, when I have a child I don't wanna be oblivious to there problems.
Minutes passed and the hospital was in sight. "You can call me, Liz" She smiled. "M-My name is Ashlynn" I spoke fast. "Beautiful name" She said parking into a parking spot and getting out. I got out also and followed her into the front office.
"Which room is Luke Hemmings in? I'm his mother"
"Room 221, on the second floor" The lady at the front desk smiled. Which I weakly returned.
We rushed over to the elevators and I pressed floor 2. We rode up passing worried glares at each other. The elevators doors opened and I ran to his room"
I passed room 219, 220, and finally 221. I stopped in my tracks and stared at the door unaware of what's behind and afraid.
Once Liz caught up to me she looked at me trying to see why I was just staring at this door that hid the boy I was madly, deeply inlove with.
"You okay?" Liz said placing her hand on my back. I turned to look at her "Uh, yeah. I'll be fine" I fakely smiled.
"You can go first, I mean you are his mother" I chuckled. She did a little also.
"And you are the one he's gonna spend the rest of his life with, turst me. That boy's inlove with you. I'm sure when he wakes he'll wanna see you" She smiled wide. Which made me smile even more.
"Thank you, Liz" I hugged her. I walked towards the door slowly. I touched the coldness of the handle on the door. I looked back at Liz with my hand still on the knob. She motioned me to go inside with a huge smile.
I turned the knob all the way, well here we go. I closed my eyes as I entered the room. Once the door closed behind me, I opened my eyes. I gasp immediatly. The boy I loved so much was lying on a hospital bed with cuts and bruises everywhere. His body looked so lifeless.
I closed my eyes thinking this was all a horrible dream that I'd wake up from but when I opened my eyes, sadly it wasn't. It was reality.
