Its been a month since Klaus died. Hope has been grieving in her own way, painting. Elijah and I have been trying to cope too. Freya went back to Keelin in Australia. Kol returned to San Francisco where he had met a witch, somebody that reminded him of Davina. Rebekah took the cure and was rid of her vampirism, as a human now she lived in New York with Marcel who left New Orleans under Elijah while he was gone. She had plans to start a family and grow old with Marcel by her side, watching her grow old and grey. It had been a rather emotional time for us all, Klaus was a big part of our lives one way or another and he would never be forgotten.

"How are you?" Elijah asked as he poured me some tea and smiled.

"I'm fine, just worried about Hope." I said and she came into the courtyard. Elijah went back to the kitchen to get something and Hope took a seat next to me. She rested her head on my shoulder and I kissed her head.

"I miss him mom..." she said as her voice cracked. The pain she felt was horrible, if I could take it from her I would in a heartbeat but I knew it was something we each needed to endure in our own way.

"I know sweetie, I do too. But we can't forget Hope, he's not gone, he's still here with us. As long as we remember him, he's here." I said and she gave me a weak smile.

"Mom?" Hope asked and I hummed in response.

"Do you think he found peace?" She asked looking at me with a worried look. I lifted a brow at her question. Klaus Mikaelson was no saint, he had done terrible and unspeakable thing, but he had redeemed himself. I had no doubt that he had indeed found peace, with Hayley.

"I think he did. I think he's happy with Hayley and they're watching us wherever they are." I said and Hope smiled.

"That's all I want for him." She said as she ran off to her room. She was a strong girl, at 15 years old she had already endured so much. Something most kids shouldn't have to, but she did, and she always pushed through. I stood up to go see where Elijah was and I suddenly fell to the ground. Elijah came out of the kitchen holding a plate and he dropped it as soon as he saw me.

"Clara!" He yelled and picked me up. The world felt blurry but I managed to stand up.

"Would you care to explain what that was?" Elijah said sitting me on the couch.

"I've been crying Elijah, and I haven't exactly been eating very well. I'm just tired that's all." I said and he seemed suspicious.

"Just promise me you'll take care of yourself. I can't loose anyone anymore Clara." He said and I smiled kissing him. Through this entire time, Elijah had been my rock. He cared for me when I was weak and he loved me unconditionally. We had promised our love to each other forever and I often wondered if it was actually possible to love somebody for eternity, but then I looked into his mesmerizing brown eyes and I knew the answer; always and forever.

"What?" He said smiling as he caught me staring at him.

"I love you Elijah Mikaelson." I said holding his face in my hands. This was the man I loved, I couldn't live without, I needed him to breathe. He taught me what real love is like, the man that gave me pleasure, that completed me.

"I know we've lost a lot these past few weeks, but I just want you to know that my lifelong goal is to please you Clara, to make you happy. I love you like I never knew I could love." He said and we kissed.
Later that evening, we had a family dinner. Elijah, Hope and I. We laughed and talked about the happy memories we had with Klaus and each other. Hope seemed to be recuperating her happiness, Elijah too. After talking and laughing for hours, it was late and we decided to go to sleep.

"Goodnight mom, I love you." Hope said as I kissed her head and turned off her lights. I made my way to my room where Elijah had already set up the room with roses and candles everywhere.

"Elijah..." I said looking around. He walked to the door and closed it. He carried me in his arms and threw me on the bed. I giggled as he climbed on top of me and kissed me.

"You're beautiful." He said and I smiled shyly. Even after all these years I still get butterflies from the man that owns my heart. He sat me up and kneeled in front of me.

"Are you-?" I asked the position he was in clearly insinuating something. He chuckled and gave me a smirk.

"I will, as soon as we're done with what I have to say." He said and I lifted a brow in question.

"Clara Gilbert, you are my home and my heart. I know that our lives may be very different from what is considered normal, but I know that as long as I am with you, I will always be happy." He said getting on one knee and pulling out a small black box. He opened the box and revealed a beautiful diamond ring. He was proposing me marriage, I felt my face go pale and I began to cry. He smiled as his eyes watered too.

"Will you marry me?" He asked and I nodded crying and laughing all at once.

"Yes! A million times yes!" I said as he slipped the ring to my finger. It fit perfectly as if it were made just for me. I figured it was about time I told him something I had been keeping in the back of my head for a couple of months now. He kissed me and then lowered his head to my legs slowly lifting my dress.

"Elijah wait-" I said lifting his head to look at me. He gave me a confused look and sat next to me.

"Is something wrong?" He asked in a serious tone.

"I need to tell you something." I said biting my lip and he nodded. I had been worried to tell him this because I feared his reaction. The truth is, I didn't even know how this was possible, but it was a miracle. A miracle I planned to treasure for the rest of my life.

"Im pregnant."

Some people might think of this as a happy ending to a fairytale. But for Elijah and I, the term "end" didn't exist. We had sworn our unconditional love to each other for eternity because that's what true love makes you do; love somebody with no conditions.
Always and Forever.
