🕊
"Lisa..."
Lisa's eyes fluttered open, but there was absolutely no way she could think or see straight. Her head was lolling around and she could barely make out where she was or what was happening. There was a figure kneeling in front of her as she leaned backwards against the lamppost, gently shaking her shoulders.
"Come on Lis, lets go home" The figure speaks soothingly.
Lisa squints, trying to make out what was happening, finding that the light she was sitting under was bright and she could barely keep her eyes open.
"Chaeyoung?"
Jennie's heart jolts and tears well up in the corners of her eyes. "No baby, it's Jennie" she smiles sadly at the broken girl sitting on the floor.
"Oh..." Lisa's voice was groggy, but filled with disappointment. Jennie knew that she wasn't the person Lisa needed right now.
"Come on Lis." Jennie climbs to her feet and grips the drunk girl around the elbows, hoisting her to her feet. The younger girl wobbling for a little while before being able to hold herself up. But, it only lasted a few seconds because Lisa fell forwards, right into her best friends arms.
"Shit, it's okay! I've got you". Jennie swore as she struggled to hold Lisa's weight. She was barely able to hold herself up, her mind foggy. Lisa droops her arm over Jennie's shoulders, using her for walking support so the pair can get back to Lisa's place quickly.
"Almost there Lis, only 3 houses down. Good girl" Jennie softly pats the youngest girls back as they walk, encouraging her on.
With not as much struggle as Jennie thought, the two reached Lisa's front door, which was wide open. "Here we are baby, lets get into bed, okay?"
Lisa bats her eyelashes and squints as Jennie carries her through to her room, being careful not to step on any of the broken glass. The older girl sighs, looking around at the state Lisa's house is in right now. Smashed glass, alcohol bottles littering the floor along with countless pairs of underwear, all of which probably belonged to the girls Lisa called over on an almost daily basis.
The second her head hits the pillows, she feels safer. Jennie pulls Lisa's blankets up until she's enveloped in.
"I don't know what I'm doing, Jen." Lisa mutters while the brunette hovers over her, fixing her pillows.
"It's okay baby. This will take time" The korean girl leans forward and combs Lisa's bangs through gently with her fingers. "We're all hurting".
"I just... I don't want to be here anymore. I don't think I can take it. I can't be happy without her here" Lisa's voice goes soft and she knows it's going to break. Why did she have to be so weak? "It just gets worse every day. Every morning that I wake up without her, I feel like I want to die."
Lisa stuttered a little on her last words, her drunken state breaking through her emotions.
"Do you want me to stay tonight?" Jennie takes the girls hand and leans down, kissing her forehead.
Lisa nods and sighs, her head still so fuzzy it's hard for her to make sense of everything. Jennie climbs over Lisa, who is mumbling nonsense to herself, and slips beneath the covers, wrapping her arms around the younger.
"Goodnight baby." Jennie whispers to her best friend, kissing her temple lightly to encourage her to be still and sleep.
After a few minutes of silence, when Jennie thought Lisa had fallen asleep, she whispers out.
"I love you, Chaeng"
The older girl didn't bother to correct her this time. Instead she clutched Lisa tighter and let the tears fall from her eyes.
