With their heels clicking against the concrete pavement, their bellies full and Chaeyoung's little hand wrapped up in her own, Lisa was content. The pair were dressed, as per Lisa's orders, a lot more formal and proper than usual. They had just finished their 4th anniversary dinner that Lisa had planned out for her and her girl, but right now they were doing something a little more spontaneous.
"Where are we going?" Chaeyoung questions, her long legs matching Lisa's strides. Neither girl really knowing what the rest of the night had in store for them.
"I have no idea"
The air was warm tonight, even though it had been a little chilly. The path was only dimly lit but neither girl felt unsafe. The clear sky was speckled with stars and the nearly full moon shone a pale light across their cheeks. Lisa gives Chaeyoung's hand a squeeze and pulls her closer, their shoulders bumping slightly.
Lisa smiles, her head full of newfound ideas when she realises that the path ends at a little sandy area by the shore of the main lake. During the daytime it served as a small man-made beach for tourists and visitors to relax and lounge.
Before Chaeyoung even got the chance to, Lisa bent down and unbuckled her girlfriends heels for her, slipping them off of her feet carefully and placing them on the grass. She does the same with her own and both of the women step onto the sand. It was soft and smooth, Lisa loved watching Chaeyoung's smile as she squishes it between her toes.
Chaeyoung has such a childlike wonder about her. Lisa just watches her, falling in love all over again with such innocence. The Korean girl lets out a little giggle as the water touches her feet, and Lisa assumes that it's because it's cold. She stands, safe on the shore, watching the 19 year old beauty splashing and exploring in the ankle deep water just below her.
Lisa's smile grew when a pair of chocolate eyes turn and look back at her standing on the beach. Chaeyoung cocks her head, a mischievous smile on her face, almost as if she was daring Lisa to come in after her. But, Lisa only grins and shakes her head, wanting to stay safe on the dry land and watch her girlfriend enjoy herself.
But, Chaeyoung had other plans. The Korean girl giggles to herself before kicking a stream of water towards her girlfriend, nearly soaking the front of her dress and legs. Lisa should have expected this, she knows Chaeyoung well enough to have expected this.
The look of shock on Lisa's face lets the other girl know that she was caught off guard by the sudden action. She can't help but tilt her head back and laugh. And Lisa falls more in love. More in love with the angel gracing the earth in her presence. She was left wondering how it was possible that she could feel this, because her love for Chaeyoung was already overflowing.
She must have gotten bored of splashing about on her own because she joins Lisa back on the sand, pressing their fronts together, wrapping her arms around her neck and looking up at her girlfriend with her big, brown eyes. Lisa smiles and kisses her forehead, then her nose, then her lips. The kiss was playful and eager, Lisa unable to get enough. They were both smiling into the kiss, their eyes squinting. Lisa just held her, afraid to let her go.
The two girls kiss until they were out of breath, parting with silent laughter, smiles plastered across both of their faces. Chaeyoung takes her and pulls her across to the dock, and Lisa does not hesitate to follow this woman to the ends of the earth. They reach the end of the dock and sit down, Chaeyoung slipping a little bit and grabbing ahold of her girlfriend for support both of them laughing at her clumsiness.
Toes hanging over the edge, almost gracing the black lake beneath them. All that can be seen in front of them is the water, smooth as glass, the reflection of the moonlight making everything visible. It is as if they are standing on the lake, or hovering over it. No dock beneath them or shore behind them.
They just sit for a little while at the end of the dock, Chae pouting a little because her feet couldn't reach the water, instead she rests her head on her girlfriends shoulder. Lisa was relaxed, enjoying the stillness of everything, listening to nothing except the soft breathing of the woman beside her.
"I love you" Lisa whispers, taking Chaeyoung's hand and caressing it gently, admiring how every inch of her was beautiful.
"I love you too" Chaeyoung lifts her head from Lisa's shoulder and kisses her cheek. The Thai girl twists her head so she could kiss her lips, so soft they were barely touching. Their heads were a little tiny bit foggy from the wine they consumed during dinner. Lisa rises to her feet and stretches out a hand to help the other where she leads her off the dock, over to the edge of the path. Chaeyoung sits back and lets Lisa brush the sand off of her feet, watching her struggle a little with the buckles.
As Lisa stands, she feels Chaeyoung's little hands on either of her cheeks. She pulls her in and gently kisses her lips, the world around them falling away. The overflowing love each girl shares for the other swirling together to create something magical.
They stumble a little, the tipsiness form dinner finally catching up to them, but Lisa wraps her arms around the other girl and steadies them, whispering sweet nothings in Chaeyoung's ear. She kissed her again. So soft, so sweet, so warm under the moonlight.
After what seems like an eternity, their lips part only slowly. Both girls believing they had shared a whole lifetime in that small kiss by the lake. Countless times they've had this experience, a time where they could see how much they loved each other. It all shows in their eyes, the windows to their intertwined souls.
Hey guys 🥰
I'm sorry I know my book is sad haha. It's such a contrast to 'Miss Park' but I wanted to try something new :) I'm also working on writing about emotion and provoking a readers emotion because that's a big part of what I'm being assessed on at school right now too!
