junhao angst

based on the song down in sandbar

here at this pier again, lingering without reason.

wen junhui has made a habit of visiting the pier once every so often. he didn't know why he would even sit there anymore. maybe it was because it felt like he was there with him again.

maybe because he was closer to his old love.

my heart is adventuring on a mottled boat. seeking for the lost sandbar.

"c'mon. we'll be back before the ever notice that we're missing,"

minghao smiled as he dragged jun to the pier. they were planning on going for a ride in minghao's father's boat. jun was against the idea- scared that they'd be caught- but he had a hard time saying no to his love.

with a sigh, jun responded, "fine. but we only have an hour or two. if someone sees us then you're dead,"

the younger smiled, "of course,"

as the tides of time washes by, i spread my arms.

"focus on steering the boat!"

minghao yelled to his boyfriend, who had been flirting with minghao.

"but i'd rather focus on you," jun smiled widely.

"and i'd rather not die,"

"c'mon, hao. there's no way that i'd manage to kill either of us. i've been doing this since i was like ten,"

the waves pushing lightly against the ship were calming. though, anything was calming if they were with each other.

"let's start to head back- my father will probably be up soon,"

jun gave a small nod.

embracing so many ups and downs, but i still miss the way you look at me.

"why are you staring at me?"

jun spoke with a light chuckle. minghao's eyes widened.

"n-nothing,"

theyd just stopped the boat a minute or so ago, but minghao had been frozen, staring at jun with a loving gaze.

"c'mon, haohao," jun smiled. "do you want to kiss me or something?"

"actually... yeah,"

"you could've just asked. i'd never say no to you, you know?" the older took a step closer to minghao.

junhui's hand traveled, one to minghao's cheek and the other to his waist. moments like these were what made jun know that being with minghao was always going to be worth it. being so close to him, and seeing the love in his eyes as he looked at the older... jun wished he could experience it for forever.

"mhm," minghao let out as he stared at jun's eyes.

and jun didn't hesitate to get rid of the space between them.

i don't necessarily need you back. it's only when i'm staring at the sea all alone again.

jun wondered how his life could take such a drastic change in such a small amount of time. one day, he was sneaking out, having the time of his life with the love of his life. and now, all he can do is stare into the sea and pray for his love back.
