"sorry, but this place has a no smoking policy,"

minghao rolls his eyes, a cigarette in his hands as the boy speaks. as a sign of protest, he put the cigarette back in his mouth, before blowing out smoke in the worker's face.

"that wasn't exactly kind of you," he waves a hand to get the smoke out of his face.

"do i look like i give a fuck?"

minghao definitely didn't look like he gave any fucks in the slightest. not only with his leather jacket and all black outfit, but with his entire aura. he wasn't exactly the sweetest person on the planet.

"you probably should," the tall brunet gave an unamused face, "being a decent person isn't hard, you know?"

"whatever you say," minghao's eyes flicker down to read the boy's name tag, "junhui,"

"so, may you please throw your cigarette away?"

minghao tapped it a few times, with a slight thinking face, "hm... no,"

the passive aggressive smile made junhui give a sigh, "jesus, you're just as bad to talk to as you seem,"

"thank you,"

"that's- that's definitely not a complement," he raises his eyebrows. "can you please either leave or throw that away?"

"do you think that saying please will suddenly make me throw my cigarette away?"

"... yeah?"

minghao lets out a laugh, "you're a funny one, junhui,"

"what kind of friends do you have?" junhui thinks out loud, an exasperated tone filling the room. if he's this bad, who are the people he surrounds himself with?

"none," he pulls the cigarette to his lips again, "friends are shit,"

"why am i not surprised at that answer?"

"hm... have i gotten predictable already?" he gives a fake pout, "maybe i should do something unexpected,"

"like actually throwing away that cigarette?"

"nah, i'm good," the passive aggressive smile reappears, and minghao sits up from the seat. "it's just a little smoke- you can handle it,"

"you're obnoxious,"

"thank you so much," minghao's tone comes out light and happy, which seems to agitate junhui a little further, "it means so much to me,"

"how hard is it to be a semi-decent person?" he rolls his eyes, getting more aggravated.

"it's actually pretty hard. there's really no reason for that kind of shit,"

"i'm- i'm done," junhui raises his hands on defeat, no longer wanting to talk to minghao. the other smiles and waves as junhui walks away, pulling the cigarette to his lips once again. he recognized that someone would be out soon to kick him out- what a snitch- and decided to leave on his own accord.

minghao wouldn't lie- it was a lot of fun to bicker with people. especially fun to see the cute barista get mad. from the bit he's seen before, junhui didn't seem like the kind to get frustrated easily. either stress was piling up or minghao was the best at irritating people. he liked to think it was the latter.

junhui works at the coffee shop three days of the week. it seems stalkerish that minghao knows that, but it's just because he sees junhui leave the shop a lot. that sounds just as stalkerish, but it's because minghao's apartment is across the street from the shop.
