junhao angst to fluff

they knew that it wouldn't take long for one of them to say something they didn't mean while they quarreled. they just didn't expect it to be that hurtful.

"you're not seriously doing this right now,"

"well, did you seriously agree to stop spending so much money?"

"i thought that it would be nice if i did something for our anniversary," junhui crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. "i really don't get why you're so mad,"

"i'm mad because of how much money you must've spent on this when we agreed to cut down on it," minghao scolded.

sadly, this wasn't the first time that they quarreled. actually, it seemed that they were constantly fighting these days. ever since they'd moved in together last fall, they were in a constant state of arguing. some nights, it resulted in junhui staying the night at soonyoung's or minghao refusing to sleep at all.

though, they did have a very good streak of not arguing for two weeks. jun had made sure to be as nice as possible and minghao tried to keep his irritation to a minimum. their fifth anniversary was today and they both had to be in the best possible mood all day.

and they were very good at maintaining it. only few hours were left in the day and junhui decided that it'd be nice to set up a candlelit dinner. sure, it costed a lot of money to set up, but it was a special occasion. and minghao deserved to get a break from all the stress that he'd put on himself recently.

minghao just didn't appreciate it as much as jun thought he would. instead of being very happy with the dinner, minghao was angry about how much jun had spent.

the two had made an agreement to cut down on their spending, and both were doing well until jun bought the food and decorations for their anniversary. so yeah, minghao certainly got a little mad.

"today is a special occasion! i wanted to make it special for you!"

"well, i didn't ask for you to do any of this, did i?"

"what else would you want me to do? pretend like today is a normal day? because then you'd get mad at me for that too,"

"you don't know that. maybe i would prefer if you did nothing. besides, it's just another year,"

"just another year? do you hear yourself?! we've been dating for five years and you want me to act like it's nothing? this is something special! and we should treat it as such!"

"you know what? i do deserve something special for having to put up with you for five years!"

"having to put up with me? minghao, you can't be serious,"

"i said what i said!"

"well, i'm sorry that nothing i ever do is good enough for you!"

"you should be sorry!"

"wow," jun let out a bitter laugh, "am i even good enough for you?"

"maybe you aren't!"

silence fell between the two. it took a second for minghao's words to hit. junhui was the first to realize what minghao said. the realization of the words' meanings clicked in his brain.
