"The files you asked for, hyung." Seungmin says as he places a pile of folders on my desk.

"Thank you, Seungmin. Is Chan in the station today?" I reply, opening the files and flipping through papers.

"I'm not sure...I don't think I remember Officer Bang being around today." He responds.

"Hmmm...perhaps he's on patrol then." I conclude.

"Why do you ask? Do you need something? I could have Changbin hyung take over on patrol if need be." Seungmin asks, pausing by the door.

"No, no, don't bother Changbin. He's got enough on his hands already. I'll ask someone for Chan later if I need him." He nods and walks out of my office, closing the door. Flipping through papers and old case files is a bore, especially when you don't have the patience for getting through all of them. Halfway between all the folders, I begin having another coughing fit.

I take a drink of water, but that isn't helping. I pick up the mini garbage can and roll my eyes as I cough up more flower petals, my throat beginning to burn.

"I'm getting fucking sick of this." I mumble. There's suddenly a knock at my door and Jeongin strolls in as I place the trash bin down. He eyes the bin knowingly and then looks at me.

"Hanahaki again, hyung? I thought you stopped coughing weeks ago."

"Yeah well, I didn't. Sorry to burst your bubble Innie, but that serum you whipped up didn't work."

"Tsk, tsk, I knew there was something wrong with the formula. Anyway, you really have to get that taken care of, hyung. Either you fall in love or you can get it surgically removed." Jeongin states, putting his hands on his hips. I roll my eyes again.

"Jeongin, I don't have time to fall in love with whoever made me like this. I've got plenty of work to handle at the moment. And even if I wanted to get it removed, they won't schedule the surgery until December." I reply.

"Still Minho hyung, I think you should get it taken care of." I shake my head frustratingly.

"What did you actually come in here for, Jeongin?"

"Oh, right. That weapon you had me examine from that suicide case a few weeks ago? Had another person's DNA on it. Not the victim's. There was no way that revolver was used in a suicide."

"Okay, so...have we figured out who the DNA belongs to?" His turn to shake his head.

"Nope. I've got Felix and a team on it right now though." I nod as a response. Though both our heads turn when the television in the corner of my office starts reading off something on the news.

"Two bodies were found ditched near Han River today at 7:00 am, both looked to be about 22 year old men with stab wounds in their backs. Authorities claim it could be a continuation of the murder case from two years ago that was never solved. Stay tuned for more information."

I slump back in my chair, baffled.

"What is it, hyung?" Jeongin asks.

"That was the case I was assigned to, two years ago...it was never solved because I archived it...we had no leads, no clues as to who the murderer was. Why is it suddenly continuing now?" I respond, twisting the end of my ink pen in my mouth.

"Maybe the killer decided it's time to continue what they never finished." He replies.

"Whatever it is, I know I'm bound to be asked to take up the case again. I'll have to get myself an espresso. Need anything, Innie?" I say, getting up and grabbing my coat.

"No thank you, Minho hyung. I'll just be in the lab with Felix if you need anything else." Jeongin states before leaving my office. I leave my office not long after him, locking the door and heading out of the station towards my favorite cafe. The warmth of the cafe and the smell of espresso welcome me as I walk in, my breath coming out as puffs of mist from the outside being so cold.

I wait in line for my turn, looking around at the decor quietly before spotting a new employee at the cash register. He looks to be around nineteen years old, with eyes as brown as mahogany and deep chocolate colored hair. I feel like I've seen him before, but I can't quite place where I know him from.

"Um, sir? Can I help you?" He awkwardly laughs as I snap back to reality.

"Oh, yes. I need a medium vanilla latte with one scoop of ice and three extra shots of espresso please." I order after clearing my throat.

"Wow, that's a ton of caffeine. Got something you need to stay up for?" The employee laughs again as he starts making my drink. I shrug.

"I've got stuff to take care of at work...tons of files and paperwork to go through." He nods as he pours espresso into my drink.

"Must be rough. I've got night classes at the university, so coffee has been my go-to everyday. Can I get a name for your order?" He pulls out a black sharpie to write on the cup.

"Minho." I answer. He hands me my drink after writing my name and smiles.

"I'm Jisung."
