Jisung's P.O.V

I swing the knife around my finger as the still fresh blood spatters onto my shirt, staining the parts of the fabric that haven't been covered yet. I open the front door, entering my house and sliding off my shoes. I throw the knife onto the floor, causing it to make a clattering noise that echoes through the hallway. My best friend enters the room as I take off my blood-soaked jacket.

"Woah, who'd you get this time?" He chuckles while nibbling on a breakfast sandwich.

"Nobody important, just some friends of dear old dad's. You should've seen the looks on their faces when they noticed me coming at them with a knife. It was hilarious." I laugh as I lazily throw off my shirt. Hyunjin laughs and gestures to his sandwich.

"You got time for breakfast, Sungie?" I check the time.

"As much as I'd love to Hyunjin, I have to get ready for work or I'm going to be late." I pat his shoulder before walking into the bathroom.

"More sandwiches for me!" Hyunjin yells down the corridor. I chuckle as I hop in the shower, ridding my body of all the blood and dirt, any evidence of a murder even happening now erased. I wash up quickly and put on my work uniform, running my fingers through my hair before calling it good.

As I head into the kitchen, Hyunjin comes strolling out of his room in a tshirt and sweatpants, his hair pulled back in a tight ponytail. I throw some instant ramen into the microwave and slip on my work shoes.

"Heading to dance practice, Jinnie?" I ask.

"Yep. I've got some moves to perfect before the show this weekend." He replies while grabbing his duffle bag.

"Good luck, break a leg...but don't actually break one, you need your legs to dance." I laugh as I start eating. He chuckles.

"I will. I'll see you after I get home. Hwang Hyunjin out." And with that, he throws up a peace sign and walks out the door. And the house becomes empty again. Lonely. All that can be heard are the many times I stir my chopsticks in my ramen cup. Sighing, I throw the ramen away and plop myself onto the couch in the living room, not quite ready to leave for work just yet.

The television flashes with the recent news, two bodies found near Han River, blah blah blah. I smile to myself and head outside in the bitter cold to my bicycle. I bike to work and park in the snowy alleyway before heading inside the cafe. The warmth from the indoor heaters greet me as the smell of fresh brewing coffee fills my nostrils.

"Jisung! You're just in time, you can start your shift!" Yeji greets me with a huge smile. I nod, putting a smile on and getting right to work. The morning goes by pretty quickly, most customers just ordering without attempting at making conversation, which kind of annoys me but who cares. It's about a quarter to eleven when the front bell rings and I watch a man walk in. He looks around twenty one years old, and has deep brown eyes and light caramel colored hair.

I shift my eyes back to the customer in front of me as I notice him staring. Where have I seen him before? I swear he looks familiar. Soon enough it's his turn and he's still staring at me...or behind me. Weird.

"Um, sir? Can I help you?" I laugh awkwardly and he clears his throat.

"Oh, yes. I need a medium vanilla latte with one scoop of ice and three extra shots of espresso please." He orders.

"Wow, that's a ton of caffeine. Got something you need to stay up for?" I laugh again as I start to make his drink. The customer shrugs.

"I've got stuff to take care of at work...tons of files and paperwork to go through." I nod as I pour espresso into the drink.

"Must be rough. I've got night classes at the university, so coffee has been my go-to everyday. Can I get a name for your order?" I pull out a black sharpie to write on the cup.

"Minho." He answers with a small smile. I hand him the drink after writing his name and smile at him.

"I'm Jisung." He smiles back and nods.

"Thanks for the drink, Jisung."

"Anytime, Minho." I reply as he leaves. There's something about him that captivates me, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. I know I've seen him somewhere before, but I can't remember where or when. It's almost like half of my memory is gone. I finish my shift rather quickly and bike to the convenient store to get some more food for Hyunjin and I.

The bell rings as I walk in, signaling my arrival as the man at the counter smiles at me.

"Hey, Jisung." He greets me.

"Hey, Jackson hyung." I reply as I start strolling through the aisles, gathering up some food in my arms.

"More ramen this week? Are you guys almost out already?" Jackson chuckles as I bring my items up to the counter. I laugh.

"You wouldn't believe how much ramen two college age guys can eat within a week." I say as I pay him with my credit card. He bags up all the food as I walk behind the counter and sit with him, opening up a box of sushi and starting to eat.

"Is Hyunjin at dance?" He asks.

"Yeah. He's got a show this weekend, so he's practicing extra hard this week." I respond, shoving a piece of sushi into my mouth. Jackson nods and pops a cracker into his mouth.

"That kid's got a whole career ahead of him if he keeps this dancing up."

"I know. I can't wait to see what he'll become."

"What about you, Sung? Any career you're interested in?" I shake my head.

"No...the world hasn't planned anything for me. I'm just simply living." I reply.
