Calum entered the kitchen finding Arabella had opened the fridge and was getting the things she saw on tv when she would watch Nickelodeon Jr. She had pulled out orange juice, the egg karten, and milk; settling the items on the ground since she couldn't reach the counter because she was still small.
"I didn't know you could open the fridge." Calum laughed as he picked up his daughter her and placed her on the counter before picking up the things she got out and placed them on the counter.
"I'm really strong now, Daddy, I'm a big girl." She smiled. Calum nodded giving her a tiny smile, Calum didn't really want to have her daughter grow up. He wanted to have his little girl be little forever. He loved her to death and wants to do anything he ever could to make her happy but he knew he couldn't when dealing with small financial problems. He would ask his parents for money but he already has and he doesn't want to again. Calum wanted a job but he needs to take care of Bella. It was just way to difficult right now to do anything to get money.
"That's good. So what do you want for breakfast?" He asked Arabella, giving her a smile as he booped her tiny nose making her giggle and smile too.
"Can I have pancakes, Daddy?" She asked as she swung her legs back and forth. Calum have her a nod and started to get the rest of the ingredients he needed to make pancake batter.
"Are you going to help me mix it, baby girl?" Calum asked Bella while she watched him measure out the ingredients, dumping them into a bowl.
"Of course!" She smiled up at him and scooted across the counter to move closer. Bella grabbed a spoon from one of the drawers and once Calum was ready for her to mix. She dropped the spoon into the batter and stirred it with both her hands, making small splashes here and there.
Calum loved moments like these when he spent time laughing and smiling with her. She gave her the happiness he couldn't have now with Lana. Bella had gotten a little flour on her nose and on her hands making her giggle and clap her hands to make even more flour get all over her.
He pulled the spoon away from her, getting a wet paper towel to wipe her face and hands. "Okay stand back, I'm gonna turn the fire on." He said as he grabbed the pan, putting butter in it to melt before he placed the batter in the sizzling pan.
Calum poured the batter into the pan forming a pancake, grabbing a spatula waiting for it to cook so he can flip it. Arabella watched, wide-eyed in amazement at how the pancake was a liquidity form to a solid form. Bella tried to reach out and touch it but Calum saw and moved her hand away.
"No, no, no. Don't do that Bella or you'll burn your hand and you'll will cry." He said as he flipped the pancake on the other side so it can fully cook.
Throughout the time Calum cooked, Bella just tried to keep trying to touch the pancakes when they cooked; she was just so curious, since she was at the stage as a toddler wanting to learn and touch things and just question about almost everything she wants to lean more about. Calum did get a little bit irritated by this but he knew Bella was just learning more about the world and her surroundings.
Once the pancakes where finished, he picked her up and carried her to the couch and sat her down. he grabbed the pancakes and two forks before making another trip back to grab some syrup. When he came back and sat down, Arabella crawled onto his lap as poured the syrup over the stack of pancakes.
Calum would give her pieces of it because he knew if he let her eat it on her own (because she loved to always get messy when she had a chance) she would get syrup all over her meaning bathtime.
