"calum you're literally the most amazing guy i've ever met and im not lying about that. ive met jerks. you're the sweetest, kindest guy ive never met and you're the most amazing father to arabella and... i just--" she paused and bit her lip. "calum i love you."
he looked at fleur and was gonna open his mouth but she put her finger over his lips. "you don't have to say it back if you don't feel the same way. im sure you don't. just tell me when you're ready." she gave a smile up at him and kissed him.
calum shut his eyes and put his hands on her waist. after they kissed, they just stood there, calum still holding her. still speechless. after a while, fleur pulled away and they walked out together. fleur sorta distanced herself from calum, talking with people.
when the sun was gone now, the little lights around the backyard lit up and there was more people on the dance floor. the dj said they were going to take it slow in a bit and michael walked up to calum who was drinking a beer watching fleur talk to others from afar.
"dude go dance with her. i told the guy to play ed sheeran." mike whispered and calum looked at michael.
"why?"
"because why the fuck not! show off your girlfriend!" he said and pushed calum along and he walked up to arabella who was talking to luke and amelia.
"uh.. fleur?" calum asked, his face getting red already. "do you want to dance with me to the next song?"
"ooooh." amelia giggled and leaned on luke. "go dance with yo mans fleur." fleur laughed and she nodded and stood up and excused herself. they went to the dance floor just as tenerife sea by ed sheeran.
calum put his arms around her waist and she put her arms around his neck and they moved slowly. "why did you avoid me after you told me?" he asked.
"because i thought you- i dont know thought it was weird or something." she shrugged and looked away from his eyes.
"baby, look at me." calum said and she looked up at him finally. "i dont think its weird at all. im just a little shook. but that doesnt change my mind about you." he chuckled.
fleur smiled a little bit and kissed him quickly. they continued to sway back and forth till the song ended.
the party was a success and at the end when everyone was gone except them and the guys, arabella had fallen asleep on the couch inside. the boys, fleur and amelia cleaned up as emma watched bella inside. once everything was cleaned up, it was about midnight and fleur, calum and his princess drove back to his apartment.
one month later
calum, luke and arabella were walking around the mall, helping luke find something for amelia's birthday. calum was also hoping to find something for his lady since their month anniversary was coming up.
the truth was, calum sorta knew he loved her when she told him the night of arabella's party. but he listened to her and waited till he felt fully ready to say it back.
they were walking up to a jewelry store. "hold up luke. i want to look in here." he said and pushed his stroller with bella inside.
"woah, you're gonna propose already? i havent even done that and ameilia and i have been dating for.... i forget." luke said and they looked at all the fancy necklaces, rings and more they had.
"no, no. i was planning on getting fleur like a bracelet or necklace or something." he said and looked in the cases.
his eyes caught something and it was a necklace where you can get a letter of your name in. he decided instantly it was perfect. calum asked one of the salesperson if he can purchase one and soon enough he was walking out with his little bag that had fleurs necklace.
