You and the other characters had moved most the people from Resident Reside to The Mushroom Kingdom since it was big enough, but it slightly worried you.

Cosmo had said it corrupts game characters... What if it reaches there?

Shaking your head, you kept your head up.

You couldn't afford to scare everyone with worries. Everyone was scared enough already...

Sans had helped you, but disappeared to get the new Player, Melody.

You hoped she'd be ok.. This was just her first day after all.

"Y/n, we have most of the Ocs that were home."

You looked over to see the the frame of Henry and Boris.

The inky wolf stayed silent besides his friend.

You nodded, "Thanks guys."

From the crowd, several Toads were making their way around, reassuring people and bringing them inside the castle walls where both Mario Bros waited to help.

You even swore you saw Bowser helping a few of the smaller ones.

Turning back to return to Circuit Central to tell Cosmo the job was done, You walked forward.

Upon your arrival, it unsettled you on how empty the city was, but that was short lived.

The sound of a charging Gaster Blaster caught your attention, followed by a yelp.

MELODY!

You charged forward to see the shorter skeleton fighting the Player, his eyes empty minus his left eye.

Your heart stopped.

His left eye, normally blue, shown the same red murderous color Bladi had.

Her soul was blue at the hands of the corrupted character, throwing her aside into the wall of the circuit board building with a sickening crunch.

You ran forward to stop him, but your attempt didn't go unnoticed as a blue heart appeared before you as well, flinging you into the opposite wall with a crash.

You winced at the pain from the impact and saw Melody trying to run, but it a futile attempt.

"HANG ON YOU TWO!"

"HELP IS ON THE WAY!"

You looked over, seeing Cuphead and Mugman running over.

"No! You'll get hurt!" You yelled at them, but they ignored you, charging their powers to take aim at Sans.

Releasing you and Melody, he turned to his new opponents, several attacks flying forward.

Shocked at first, they stumbled a bit, but nonetheless, managed to dodge mostly unhurt.

Both used different tactics, but they were effective in distracting Sans from you and the other.

Running forward, you helped Melody up, "Are you ok?!"

She was shaking terribly, her eyes wide and bleeding on her cheek, "I-I.. He-"
Melody stammered, the horror of the sudden attack still in her mind.

You turned to watch Mugman be slammed into a wall, leaving Cuphead to continue to fire at the skeleton.

The rapid teleportation and movements made you dizzy, forcing you to turn away from the battle and focus on the injures the Player had.

A crash sounded behind you, making your blood go cold.

"CUPHEAD!"

The fear in Mugman's voice made you turn.

Instant regret.

The red cup that had been Cuphead was shattered.

Mugman had jumped for his brother's drifting soul, but was pulled away by the skeleton.

"SANS!" You yelled, running forward now.

Several bones blocked your path, but he froze, looking suddenly shocked.

Mugman had hit him.

His eyes had flashed, reappearing to be normal, but in immense pain.

Mugman noticed this and looked horrified.

Sans looked to the damage he had done, clutching his chest, "Well... That... Wasn't planned..." he looked at you, Melody and the remaining Cup bro.

"Sorry... Bout... Everything."

He fell, dust taking his place.

Your eyes widened.

You had just witnessed two deaths from the corruption...
