Melody watched in horror as her body approuched Cosmo, swords gleaming as they approuched.

"You were never a combat player Cosmo. Accept death and it'll be over quickly." He grinned, raising the sword.

A clang as metal hit metal.

"Maybe, But I won't go down without a fight! I've sworn to protect this world from monsters like you!"

A cold laugh, "THEN YOU'LL DIE AN IDIOT. THERE IS NOTHING HERE FOR YOU HUMANS."

Cosmo snarled, his blue eye piece glowing as several attacks that mimicked Mario's fire balls and Kirby's stars flew forward.

They slammed into Glitch-Melody, more laughing emitted as it didn't hurt him, but it hurt someone..

Melody wanted to scream in pain as the damage from the attacks landed.

"Yes that's it! Kill us! You'll prove you don't care for your fellows!"

His eyes widened as his dark face looked sick as this set in.

You ran as hard as you could toward Circuit Central.

Isabelle had left earlier to watch the others, but that left the place empty besides Cosmo and something told you that something was wrong.

Sliding onto the teleporter, you froze at the sight of the open door.

Praying Cosmo had just left it open, you dashed inside and was met with the very sight you feared.

Melody stood infront of Cosmo, sword in her hands and a sickeningly creepy smile on her face. Her violet eyes now green with hints of red.

Cosmo looked over, "Y/n!"

A mistake.

She flew forward, grabbing his eye piece and prying it from his face, "Don't think this scrap of metal will save you this time either!"

That wasn't Melody's voice.

This voice was different.

That voice wasn't sane.

Cosmo stumbled back and began tapping his robotic arm.

This caught the fake-Melody's eyes, "I see you replaced parts from our last battle eh? "

The Gameboy glared as his sword began to glow a blue.

Enchantments.

Fake-Melody advanced.

Grabbing a nearby controller, you made your own sword and flew forward to counter the imposter, their eyes wide.

A foot met your gut as you slid away, all your breath knocked out of you.

The Imposter advanced on you now, raising their sword and aiming to kill you.

You braced.

Nothing came...

A gasp and a yell of terror.

Your blood went cold as you looked up, Melody had released the sword and was backing away from an impaled Cosmo, his brown eyes wide in shock.

The sword had penetrated his chest.

"NononononoNONONO!!" You yelled, panic rising as you ran to your mentor...

Your best friend...

"Y-You'll be ok..! You'll respawn..!"

Another cackle.

You spun around, the tearful violet eyes vanished back to the bloodthirsty green and red, "You're an idiot too! He's out of lives! You Players aren't immortal! That dumb eye piece was keeping him from dying permanently! "

"NO. NO THAT'S NOT TRUE" you yelled, praying you were right.

HE CAN'T DIE..!

"You have the rest of today to surrender or you'll watch each and everyone one of your 'Precious ' players meet their ends!"

With another blood-chilling cackle, he teleported, taking Melody with him.

You felt cold as you turned back to Cosmo.

He coughed, "Y-Y/n.."

"N-no.. please rest..! He doesn't know what he's talking about..! I need to remove the sword and get your kit-"

"Y/n-... Please..."

Hot tears flooded your eyes as you looked at your friend, "Don't leave me.." you pleaded.

His soft smile passed onto his face, placing a hand on your face, "Y/n.. Listen t-to me... Get the Ocs and Players together... You'll have to fight... Don't l-let him win..."

"Cosmo don't say that..! W-we lead them..!"

"... No... You have too... I'm s-sorry..."

His hand slipped from your face, his body limp.
