Well that was just fantastic.
We're just going to go ahead and ignore the fact that I got a letter from another universe and continue on with the story! (Fourth wall break count: 10) I'm sure me-but-not-really-me isn't expecting an answer back.
Sighing, I go back to eating my breakfast. Except for the fact that my fork just disappeared into the void. My brows furrowed. The heck? Where did it go? I duck under the table to look but there's nothing there. I sit back up and go to grab another fork from the cabinet.
I check the time on my phone. Crap. Class is starting soon and I gotta get moving. Evie already left me behind, claiming that the school is safer for low-tiers in the morning because no one is there.
I would've gone with her as protection if I didn't just wake up.
Putting down my phone, I look to pick my bowl of cereal up but freeze. Lo and behold is my other fork. My eyes flit to the one in my hand. Then back to the one on the table, exactly where I left it before it disappeared.
What in the world....
Despite the strange start to the morning, I managed to get to school on time. Life was even better when I got to the safety of the classroom just as the bell rang.
And no Alex to be seen.
The only bad thing about the day is that it was Friday. If you remember, Friday is the day of the very early Turf War that the King and Queen somehow managed to schedule within the first freaking week of school
Who does that?
Other than that, today was going quite well. Since Alex didn't show up yet, she hasn't bothered me at all about Turf Wars. She says she doesn't like Turf Wars. She says she doesn't like being a royal. But all evidence contradicts the lies coming out of her mouth. Right after telling us about disliking Turf Wars, she goes on and on about the joys of death, murder, fighting, and blood.
Which is almost exactly what Turf Wars is.
I, for one, am okay with Turf Wars as long as nobody is getting fatally injured. That's when bad things happen. And nobody likes bad things. I don't particularly enjoy watching people get beat up or beating people up myself. Luckily, it is a hundred percent possible to pull teammates out of the battle if you are sure that they are going to lose. Therefore, if you are smart, you can avoid having most people on your team injured too badly. If anything too intense does happen, the healer is there to save your life.
Be grateful, peasants.
Ah, the queen of peasants and hurting herself has arrived. She is also the queen of happily hurting others for her own personal amusement.
Ladies and gentleman, meet Alex.
Oh right, you already did. All of us were in the room where it happened, so we all know about her overpowered abilities; as well as the fact that she is quite the maniac!
She grins at me before sliding into her seat. Our teacher, still quite fond of Alex, doesn't say anything and the bell rings. Her desk neighbor, Remi, stares at her as if she's grown 13 heads. It's happened once, so I can't say for sure that it hasn't happened again, this time with Remi being the unfortunate witness instead of me.
Remi says something and Alex stares wistfully into space while, I assume, replying. I let out a puff of air and stand up. Gotta greet my best friend before class starts again, right!
"Alex! Hey! Why're you late?" I shout....
But Alex ignores me and walks right past. I look back at Remi and she gives me a pitiful look. Turning back around, I see Alex's bright green hair weave through the crowd of angry glares (the children of Wellston have still not gotten over her introduction, it seems.)
