" Yes, lunchtime." I looked up at the ceiling and stretched. The class seemed more interesting than before or maybe it's just because I rarely paid attention at all.
" I'll go to the cafeteria to buy food," I told Leon who was comfortably resting his head on the table. He lifted his arm with no energy as if dismissing me.
" What do you want me to get?" I asked.
" Milk," I raised a brow. " Milk?" I reiterated with a condescending tone to tease him. Leon lazily nodded his head and I sighed in response.
" All right then," I smirked and shook my head. The first stop was the cafeteria. It's always packed in there no matter what time you go, I guess it's better to go there earlier. I crinkled my nose right as I saw the long line. I tried to walk along the line to see if any of my favourite meals were still available. My long height served an advantage for me this time, I could see right above the peoples' heads.
The next stop was to buy milk for Leon. He seemed out of it today and I can't blame him after what happened yesterday. For a long time, I've wondered why he never bothers to mention his family or anything about himself. He's always the one listening. What can I do to return his kindness? Sure he may be too blunt often but he's the only good friend I've got. I've always thought we had a lot of things in common but now that I know about his father, it proves my point even more.
I finally reached the farthest vending machine and unluckily for me, it's right outside the building. It's the only one that sells milk. So much for a rich school, I mean you'd expect to find a vending machine inside the building. Finally, I thought as I reached the vending machine.
" Hi dad," I halted when a female's voice suddenly appeared. It's one I am familiar with but I'm not certain who she is.
" I'm doing fine here. As always so you don't need to always call me," I hid beside the vending machine, trying to eavesdrop. My mom has always told me it's not a good thing to do but since I'm here, I might as well do it. The person's probably seated on the bench right beside the vending machine. Good, this might be interesting.
" How's police duty?" I leaned my head closer. " I see...." the person stayed silent for a few seconds, leading me to lose a little interest.
" The game?" she said.
" I thought I already told you." she awkwardly laughed.
" Sorry, dad. I lost the game. Again."
" I'm sorry...They were just too good. I couldn't even cheer my team. I'm such a bad captain." I lifted a brow. Captain. Game. Familiar voice. It's Sawamura Nagisa. No wonder she avoided my question yesterday. Ah, I'm such an idiot. Hearing her say that she lost, I closed my eyes in shame.
" I know. But I can never be as good as you. I'm sorry dad." The beeping sound after she spoke indicated that she probably ended the call right after. I should leave before she sees me. I took two steps forward hoping that she wouldn't notice but I was too late. We both almost bumped into each other. Crap.
" W-were you eavesdropping?" I couldn't respond and I can't slip up now! If I tell her the truth I'll seem creepy.
" U-uh I wasn't. I just got here," I tried my best to avoid her gaze. Her eyes were deep brown, the sun that beamed its light over us made her eyes look brighter and her skin glowing. I had to do a double-take to fully take her beauty in. I gulped as I suddenly felt my heart beat faster. Nagisa crossed her arms and looked at me annoyingly.
" Just please tell me if you heard everything," she let out a deep sigh and I did as well.
" Sorry," I admitted the truth. Her eyebrows were furrowed once I told her.
