- 3rd Person's POV -
It was finally the last day of Junior High. Spring had finally arrived; the perfect cherry blossom trees grew their beautiful pink leaves, and it blows along with the windy temperature of Tokyo. Inside, the Ushijima household held an exciting pre-celebration for their one and only son, Ushijima Natsuki.
Today will be his last day of junior high, and the day he'll step into the high school life. Long ago, Ayumi told Natsuki high school was something that changed her life forever. There, she met his father, her lifetime friends and experiences that taught her the beauty of being a teenager. Times are different now though, and Natsuki doubts he'll have the same 'life-changing' experiences once he steps unto high school.
"I'm so excited!" Ayumi almost screamed into her son's ear as she attempted to fix his uniform.
Natsuki covered one ear with his hand and uttered a sound of complaint, "Ugh, mom. You're too loud." His forehead creased after he let out a sigh.
"Why are you in a foul mood today?" Ushijima, who had just come out of the kitchen, entered the living room with a hot cup of coffee in his hand and asked. Ayumi smiled at the sigh of her husband in his formal outfit: a tuxedo covering his well-built form, paired with a properly tailed black jacket, and a black tie. She felt that it was important to be well-dressed, especially for an occasion such as this. Ushijima has now retired from the professional volleyball league and coached Shiratorizawa's team, so it's a must for both of them to present themselves the best way possible.
"Nothing," replied Natsuki. Actually, he's been having this 'foul' mood for four days. After seeing what happened on Monday afternoon, he felt like he couldn't control his frustration. It was a pain seeing his friend in the hallways. When they do, they don't even acknowledge each other's presence. Natsuki had no problems with it. In fact, it relieved him not to talk to the person who 'betrayed' him.
"Aw, I'm sure once you go through the day you'll lighten up," Ayumi smiled. She then fixed Natsuki's hair to make it look more appealing.
"Now, let's go. We'll drive you to school," she said. The bright smile on his mother's face at least made him feel a little better. It was a reminder not to be too much of an asshole today. Without another word of complaint, Natsuki followed his parents all the way to their large driveway. The three of them entered their expensive car and began the travel.
Natsuki looked outside the window, gazing at the scenery of the busy streets. He thought long about what'll happen to him from now on. His fiery passion for volleyball slowly started deteriorating before he knew it. There was nothing to be excited about volleyball anymore. His perfect duo slash partner doesn't even bother to spare a word to him. The excitement that he once felt in the stadium had disappeared. And Natsuki hated it. He hated how much seeing the two of his friends happy affected him.
Still, he wanted to be a good friend, even when it's probably the last time they'll ever be as friends.
'If they want to be together. Then so be it,' Natsuki thought. It pained him, but it was all right. Just like his aunt Aki said, there are plenty of fish in the sea. An odd phrase, but it was comforting.

Meanwhile, inside the Sawamura residence, Nagisa busied herself by cooking delicious meals for her parents.
