- Leon -

For three years,  I've stared outside the window that overlooks the field outside our school. Watching people play to their heart's content makes me feel an aching sense of jealousy. It must be fun to be passionate about something and to have fun while doing something they like.

A sigh is all I could gather up, every morning I stare outside this window to look for inspiration yet all it does is reminds me how lacklustre my life is. It astonishes me how quickly I lose interest in things. Volleyball, video games, basketball, I've tried it. None seem to stick to me.

The only thing that keeps my mundane life interesting is my friend. He's interesting all right.

" Leon!" I smirked as the familiar, annoying voice calls out my name. Natsuki ran towards me like a raging bull.

" Did you finish the last level?" He panted and placed his hands on his knees. I shook my head and continued to look outside the window. I haven't played any video game since last week, it's gotten boring.

" Yeah." I lied, anything to keep this guy talking.

" I knew it. Damn it, I could've beaten that damn monkey if I didn't power up too early." Natsuki rambled on and I was happy to listen. I never really liked talking, it felt like I'm wasting too much energy.

My ears are always fueled on and I would rather listen to anyone than speak. His eyes widened like an idea popped into his head.

" You met Sawamura-san yesterday right?" I gave him my attention. Ever since those two met, she's all he talks about. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to like Sawamura.

" Yeah," I replied and smirked. It was not my plan to meet her like that. It was an embarrassing moment. I rarely go outside to buy a book, No-- I have never gone outside to buy a book. Yesterday was a first, and based on what happened yesterday, would probably be my last.

I still wonder why she ran away like that. She's one bizarre girl. She's been in one of my classes a year ago, I barely remember. She often sat alone in the corner to read manga. Lunchtime would be her happiest hour, I guess. She got to sit on her spot at the rooftop. She's the girl I always notice first. It's weird to see an anti-social person like me.

" So? How was she?" I furrowed my eyebrows and chuckled.

" How would I know that?" I turned around to face the doors of the loud classrooms and leaned against the window.

" Didn't you two talk to each other?" I looked at the shoe lockers to avoid his curious looks. He'll definitely laugh at me if he finds out I read mangas.

" Nah. We just saw each other that's all." He nodded his head and hummed along. A smirk fell on his face and looked like he had just thought of something wouldn't like.

" Wait a minute..... What were you even doing in a bookstore?" He teased, nudging my arm with his elbow and laughing creepily at me.

" I was looking for video games." He arched a brow and chortled.

" A video game-- in a bookstore." I nodded my head and smiled.

" Or were you looking for erotica?" Natsuki tries to hold in his laughter, puckering his lips and letting out suppressed laughs.

" Yeah. I was gonna buy them for you." His mouth formed an O-shape. A stupid look he'd always have when I say something unexpected. He wrapped his arm around his stomach and pretended to vomit.

" Dude, please don't joke like that." I laughed and punched him on the arm. Playfully, of course.

" I will if you don't shut up about erotica." I could only roll my eyes and let out a relieved sigh. It's good that I managed to distract him from talking about Sawamura.
