I could hear commotion coming from the lower levels and I just prayed that it was my friends. This new form of Edelgard's... it scared me. "They're here!! Don't let up!!" An Imperial shouted from the outside. A glimmer of hope fluttered in my heart as I sat waiting for them. A demonic laugh ripped from Edelgard's throat. "You shall be obliterated! I will take you out so fast you will not have a chance to lament..." She summoned a ball of dark energy and threw it into the sky. I watched as it disappeared fearing for where it was heading. She repeated the same action once more before standing down. "Gah! Where did that attack come from?! If we do not find out we have no chance of avoiding it!" That voice... I got up and walked to the edge of the stairs. "Dimitri!!" I was grabbed by a claw and thrown back. "Silence you fool!" I slowly got up but didn't move.

I listened intently and heard the sounds of weapons clashing. 'Sothis...please. protect them!' The commotion was getting closer and closer I saw a wyvern enter the throne room, a white one. "Claude!!" I yelled with all my might. His attention turned to me and he carried a look of relief in his eyes. "Thalia... I've got eyes on her Dimitri!!" Edelgard grunted as she turned in Claude's direction. "These fools are caught up in the sacrifices at hand and cannot see the future ramifications at stake... We must bury them. We must trample the past underfoot, and move toward a brighter tomorrow!" At her words a mage cast a spell at Claude which he dodged with ease. He did not advance and I could see why. He didn't want to risk Edelgard turning on me.

Finally, after what felt like forever a man clad in black armor entered the room. My heart cried out in happiness but I could not move. His eyes met mine and I could see a mixture emotions present in them. "Thalia... So... that grotesque creature was Edelgard. If she is prepared to hurt the one I love and transform her very body to fight for this future of hers... Then I have no choice but to defeat her, even if it costs me my life! We must defend the present... After all, it is all we truly have." The kingdom troops made their official march into the throne room, taking down images one after one. The moment when Dimitri finally made his advance towards Edelgard was a moment I truly was ready for. "To be changed beyond all recognition... That is what lies at the end of the ideals you served so diligently. I have no pity for one such as you. If that is the future you hoped for, then you deserve no compassion. Claude! Now!!" I felt myself being swept off the ground as Claude pulled me into his arms and flew away with me. "Claude, go back! We have to help Dimitri!" Claude shook his head. "No can do sweetheart. I've got my orders. And those were to get you out. Alive."

We landed just outside the palace and Claude signaled for Marianne to come over. He let me down slowly and caught me before I collapsed. He looked at me questioningly as he sat me on the ground. "Thalia... your hair... this blood. Why did they want you? And what did they do to you?" Marianne's healing magic began to consume my body causing a sigh of relief to fall from my lips. "They never truly wanted me. They only wanted to make Dimitri squirm. Claude... what they done to me... was worse than fourteen years ago. It was... horrible!" Tears began to fall down my face as Claude began to understand what I meant. He pulled me into his arms and I cried into his chest. "Edelgard she... she said I could boost troop morale. She...had them use me... it was horrible!!" Sobs began to rack my body one after another. I only stopped whenever I heard the palace doors open. I turned and saw Dimitri and the professor walk out. I peeled myself from Claude's arms and ran. Dimitri pulled me into his arms but grunted as he did. Confused I stepped back to see he had blood running down his armor.

"Dimitri... what happened?" He grunted again before smiling at me. "It doesn't matter. Right now this is the only thing that matters." He pulled a small box out of his pant pocket and got down on one knee. My hands went to my mouth and gasps could be heard from everyone around us. He opened the box, revealing a silver ring with an emerald stone set in the center. "Thalia Rose Nansen. Will you marry me?" Tears slid down my eyes as I smiled. "Yes! Of course I will!!" Applause was heard all throughout the streets of Enbarr as he gently slid the ring onto my hand. He then took my face in his hands and kissed me passionately. We pulled away briefly, not wanting to take it too far in front of all of these people.

I rode horseback with Dimitri, and he held me in his arms as tight as possible. I would catch him gazing at me every so often with concern in his eyes. I knew I was going to have to tell him eventually what had happened to me. I was scared. I knew this wouldn't color his view of me but I still held anxiety in my heart. "Are you alright, my beloved." I couldn't help but smile when he called me that as we walked back to our room. "Yes I'm fine. I'm just ready to see Lillie is all." He nodded in understanding as he opened up the door. Blue eyes flew over to me and she instantly began to cry. "Momma!!! I was so scared momma." I picked her up and held her close to my chest as she cried. Dimitri walked up behind me and pulled us both into his chest. "Well your daddy and uncle Claude saved me. So I'm okay now." She stopped crying and smiled. "I'm glad momma. I love you and daddy so much." I giggled slightly as I pulled our daughter even closer into our embrace.
