Chapter Ten

March, 30th, that's when all the bad news came.

I was sitting down on the couch with Cody, all cuddled up close to him, the baby was asleep. I hugged Cody and he started looking at me with a panic expression on his face.

He looked down at me saying "Carly, I have to tell you something I've been wanting to tell you since we were 15."

"Yes..." I said. At first I thought he was going to say something about how much he loved me or something, but that's when I had a mental breakdown.

"Carly... This is going to be hard but a I need to tell you, I can't hold it in any longer. Remember when I said I went on vacation for 5 years?"

"Yeah.." Well I did go on vacation for 3 years, and when I came back I was rushed to the hospital. I found out that I was diagnosed with cancer."

I broke down and hugged Cody so tight as I sobbed into his sweatshirt.

"So you've had cancer since you were 15 and didn't tell me?"

" I didn't want to hurt you Carly!"

I cried even harder into his sweatshirt.

"Let me continue... Well, I did almost die, but... I was saved."

I interrupted "thank god!"

"And now, it's starting to get worse... I have an appointment for the doctors tomorrow, to check out what's going on.."

"Okay" I said, still crying.

" whatever happens just know I love you..okay?"

"Okay.. I love you too"

I continued crying for the rest of the night wrapped in Codys arms not knowing what to think at this point.
