This chapter is a poem written by Lizzie Read during the second month of quarantine.
When the noise in your head turns to static
Like a TV screen gone black
When the world around starts to panic
Because a something decides to attack
When you're locked in your room all alone, now
No jailer to let you escape
And you find yourself wishing that somehow
You could do something to stop the world's shake
I'm all alone in a hell world
I'm trapped
Inside
My brain
I'm all alone in a hell world
Never
To be free
Again
When everything is crashing and burning
Like a trick plane that lost all control
And you find yourself caging your yearnings
While your fears are allowed to patrol
Now the world around has turned to static
Our past lives now something bemoaned
My world now fits in my attic
I am well and truly alone
I'm all alone in a hell world
I'm trapped
Inside
My brain
I'm all alone in a hell world
Never
To be free
Again
Everything is dissolving into static
I'm letting go
