Ten heavenly days.
I was busy typing the replies to some of the mails which was forwarded to me, not paying attention to the ticking clock and the deserted office.
"It's ten already." Jimin placed the completed files on my deek. I gave a short glance at it, and went back to my work. "I've given you the privilege to even leave the job. So, you don't need to ask before leaving." I say as my hands roam over the key board while scribbling required things on my iPad with the stylus.
"I-I was looking out for you. It's too late for you to go alone.." He trailed off, earning a small glance from me. I snort and continue my work."You don't need to anymore."
"Oh...umm...then-"
"You can leave Mr. Park." I say with final-ty in my tone, not wanting him in my presence anymore.
"Y-ya...G-good night Ivy-"
"Ms. Kim." I correct him, with a sharp look.
"Y-yeah. Ms. Kim." He managed to say hesitantly, the sadness evident in his voice. I didn't care about giving him a glance, but I felt his presence, his gaze stuck on me from my peripheral vision.
Well, it was his own fault now. Maybe it was my own to open up to him. Or maybe, it is my own, because I thought he was good enough to stick to me, have my back against all the world.
I would atleast feel comforted with his words against the entire narrative people presented on me, but now, I get that he isn't any different.Soon, I was drowned in my own world, scribbling, cutting, rewriting, editing and what not.
As I refreshed my page, I found an unexpected email from one of the biggest entertainment company of the world, Moonchild-ren, Texas. Symphony is world's largest and the best music producing company within four years, the main reason why the entertainment companies are always behind for collaboration. Moonchild-ren's CEO, Mrs. Maelyn Fernsby, pronounced as Mah-aye-lean Ferns-bie (as she barks), is a grade A manipulative whor-ish woman in her 40s, who had great, like great interest in men about ten years or more younger than her, given the fact she is married to the fifty year ol' noble Attorney General of US, Mr. Fernsby. Heck, she had even tried to hit on Jimin once, almost undressed him right in front of my eyes. Living in Texas, she had for sure accumulated the Indian business tricks, specifically the negative ones. I remember her giving an interview a few years back.
"What are your opinions about Symphony? Are they gonna be a threat for you and your empire?"
"Well, honestly, I feel nowadays youngsters are floating in their dreamland. Out of nowhere, without any prior experience, one cannot be a successful entrepreneur. After all, to thrive, you need 'skills' and 'talent'."
I could still hear her high pitched laugh after saying these lines. The day Symphony was announced as the no.1 corporation, her face was a sight to see. Stammering and waving off people, quivering from their sights, just like a culprit brought into highlight.
As of the current finances, Symphony and Euphoria collab has made the highest profits and managed to trap in a very large audience base. So, her email, meant only one thing- her negotiating with me and taking over my empire under hers, with the help of her anything-for-my-wife attitude husband.
"Mrs. Fernsby, asking for a visit? To Texas?" Jimin came in with his IPad in his hands, obviously shocked by the news. I smirked not taking my eyes off the screen. Of course she had. She had sent two tickets for the world's largest musical festival, 'Beyond The Scenes'.
