CHAPTER 1

First Meeting

"Hija, pinapagising ka na ng Mommy mo at mag e-
entrance exam ka pa daw"

"Manang! Ang aga pa e" sabi ko habang pinipilit makatulog ulit

"Hay naku! Malalagot ako sa Mommy mo sige ka, tumayo ka na riyan at mag ayos na" sabi ni Manang, wala akong nagawa at tumayo nalang

"Okay Manang. Mag aayos na ako pakisabi kay Mommy"

It's almost 6:30 in the morning. Look, it's so early to wake up. I have entrance exam in Stanford University. I am not ready to be a high school student. I am not ready for responsibilities.

I took a shower and I am wearing a jeans with a pair of tucked in t-shirt. I put some light makeup on my face before going downstairs.

"Good Morning" I said and I kissed them on cheeks. I sat beside my brother.

"Good Morning Anak. Sorry to wake you up so early. You have to take entrance exam e" Mommy said while preparing breakfast

"Kami na ng kuya mo maghahatid sayo papuntang SU. May entrance exam din ang kuya mo " Daddy said

I am incoming Grade 7 while my brother here is incoming Grade 11. He graduated as Valedictorian at St Mary's. Well, our parents wants us to transfer for new environment and friends.

"Okay" I said and started eating my breakfast

Pagkatapos namin kumain, umalis na kami agad. Si Daddy ang nagdrive habang si Kuya Lucas ay nasa front seat. Ako naman ay nasa likod

"Anak goodluck sa exam. I know you can do it" Daddy said to me "Hindi ba dito din si Sam magaaral?" Sam is my childhood friend at lagi kaming magkasama. Her parents is one of our partners in our firm

"Yes I think Daddy. Let's go Kuya Lucas" I kissed goodbye to Daddy before going out the car

"Bakit parang wala pa si Sam? Di ba sabay kayo mag eexam?" Kuya asked

"I dont know e. Maybe papunta na sya? I'll call her wait." I dial her number on phone and she answer immediately

"Hey! Where are you na? Im here na sa Stanford" I said

"Hey friend! Gosh wait Im coming there na. Paalis na din ako dito sa bahay. Just wait nalang!"

"Bilisan mo at wala akong kasama dito. May exam din si Kuya." I said while looking at my Kuya

"Yes yes. Wait I'll hang up the phone na. Bye! See you later!"

"Uhm papunta na sya Kuya. You can go na. I can take care of myself here" I said to him

"No. Antayin ko nalang sya makadating bago ako umalis" He said

After many minutes of waiting for Samantha. Dumating na sya at hingal hingal pa. Her long curled hair is dancing while running

"Gosh! Im sorry. Nag antay pa kayo" sabi niya at nag peace sign pa

"Well it's okay. Maaga naman ako nagising" sabi ko at tinignan na si Kuya sa likod ko. "Uhm Kuya you can go na. Baka malate ka pa. Thank you" sabi ko at tumango naman sya at lumapit sakin para halikan ang noo ko

"Okay. Take care. Call me if you're done" the he walked away

Pumunta na kame ni Samantha sa designated room kung saan kame mag eexam. After a few hours, we're done taking exams. It was easy for me because I study before I take exam

"Can we go to the mall? Gusto ko gumala" sabi ni Sam sa akin

"Try ko magpaalam kela Mommy" I texted Mommy
