'At least, I would hope so...'

~Lefty's POV~

I walked along a trail I had made in the woods. Yes, I made it. I have a lot of spare time. Especially during school. I could care less about it, but, y'know, I can't escape it.

After walking for a few minutes, I stopped. I took out an earbud, glancing around. I had a really weird feeling, like someone was following me. Maybe I'm just imagining something for excitement. That'd be a first.

I shrugged away the thought, putting the earbud back and continuing forward. I began to mumble the lyrics to the song I was listening to, which just so happened to be my favorite, that being Labyrinth. It hits me on an emotional level.

"It's closing time, gotta clean up all the messes that were made. Order supplies, and advertise. Wait, I hear voices on every side."

My mumbling rose to singing.

"And I wonder where? And I wonder why? Where do they hide?"

My heart stopped as I heard an unfamiliar voice continue singing.

"I'm sorry, you've been misinformed, this is just a never-ending Labyrinth and nothing more! Endless circles of fear, chasing cries of children that seem so near!" The stranger sang.

I decided to join in.

"Out of reach, you will never find them! Oh, don't you see? This is where the story ends!"

Not gonna lie, we sounded professional. But anyways, back to the issue at hand. I cleared my throat.

"So uh, who's there?"

I looked around to see someone poking there head out from behind a tree.

"You were singing, huh?" They said.

I studied them for a moment as they stepped out from behind the tree. I think it's a male, but you never know nowadays. They had short brown-ish hair with white streaks. They seemed to be wearing ragged clothing; I could see holes in their shirt, and their pants looked torn at the knees, but not like 'ripped jeans' torn. Like, worn out.

"Yeah, why?" I finally responded.

"I was just curious. I heard someone's voice and decided to follow. Well, now I know it's yours, but you know what I mean. Right?" They smiled.

I made the decision that this stranger was indeed a male, judging by his voice. I nodded, tilting my head.

"You do realize that's kind of stalker-ish, right?" I questioned.

"Well now I do." He grinned. "Thanks for the advice!"

I couldn't help but smile, nodding again.

"What's your name?" I asked as I sat down.

"I'm Molten, and you?" Molten sat down in front of me.

"Lefty."

"I like that name. 'Lefty.'" Molten smiled.

"Thanks.."

Wow, this is a first. I'm talking to someone new. And it's an actual conversation, holy crap.

"Hello? You there?" Molten was waving his hand in front of my face.

I blinked, looking at him and shaking my head to clear my thoughts.

"Yeah, sorry. I spaced out. Happens a lot."

"Oh, it's okay!" Molten grinned again.

"You smile a lot. Is that, like, a natural thing for you?" I tilted my head.

"I think it's just a natural response to anything. I don't really know. Why? Is it weird that I smile a lot? I can stop if it's making you uncomf-"

"Oh no no no, I was just curious. You're fine. It's nice to see someone else smile for once."

"Oh, okay!" His eyes lit up.

I giggled quietly.

"You're different than most people I've ever met." I readjusted my sitting position.

"How so?" Molten tilted his head.

"You just are."

"Is that a bad thing?"

"Not at all." I smiled at him.

"Hey, now you're smiling!" He returned it.

I looked down, glancing at my arms before looking back up at him.

"I guess so."

"You should smile more often. It's a good look on you."

I tilted my head.

"Not that you looked bad before! I just mean it's- Oh forget it."

"Relax, I know what you meant." I giggled. Molten grinned.

My phone alarm went off.

"8:30 already?!" I groaned. Molten frowned.

"Second period already? I was just starting to get comfy!"

I laughed. Molten laughed with me.

"What class?" I questioned.

"Science, thankfully it's the only class I'm not failing." Molten answered.

"Damn, I'm stuck in English." I muttered.

"Aw, darn." Molten sighed.

"Come on, before we're late."

I walked along the path, glancing behind me to see if Molten was following. He was, which was nice. Eventually we reached the school building. I quickly went in. I heard Molten's footsteps behind me. We stopped at my locker.

"This is where we part ways, I'll see you around." I opened my locker, sighing at the mess of loose papers. I turned around and, to my surprise, Molten was already gone. I shrugged.

"Well, lookie who's back in the building."

I turned around to see who was bothering me but was rudely stopped due to being slammed against my locker door.

"Ow! Hey, what the hell?!" I yelled.

A crowd started surrounding us. My pursuer laughed. Their words started to mush together as I began losing consciousness, as their hand was gripping my neck. It was really painful.

I must've passed out because next thing I knew I was inside my locker. Side note, they aren't that big. I'm just really thin. The one downside to not being a "food person."

I'm trapped in my tiny locker, wonderful. Can today get any worse?

I thought for a moment.

If I'm trapped, I won't be able to leave school, meaning I can't be on the bus with Helpy, and he can't get into the house because I'm an idiot and didn't give him a damn key. Great job Lefty. Great. Job.

I sighed, feeling tears roll down my cheeks. I tried reaching into my pocket to grab my phone, and thankfully I succeeded. I sent a quick message to Helpy, telling him to take the bus with Bon-Bon, then shut my phone off, closing my eyes. Maybe, just maybe, I'd be able to fall asleep like this.

I was wrong.
