'I felt like things would get better.'

~Molten's POV~

"Ugh.." I opened my eyes to see I was in a dark room. Where? I had no idea. I let my eyes adjust the darkness and was able to spot a ladder in the far corner of the room.

Where am I..?

"Oh, you're awake!" I heard an unfamiliar voice say. Footsteps followed. Someone crouched down in front of me. I realized my hands were chained to the wall. "Hey there!"

"Who are you?" My voice sounded weak, as if I hadn't used it in a long time.

"Just call me Spring, what's your name?" He sat down.

"Molten." I tugged on the chains around my wrists, but nothing happened.

"They won't budge, I've already tried getting them off you."

"How many times have you tried?" I questioned.

"At least 20. It was hard without knowing if I'd broken your wrists yet." Spring chuckled.

"How long have you been here?"

"Uhh, I have no clue. Maybe around 5 months? Days are blending together at this point."

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah, although I've tried keeping time. There's never any light here."

"Where is here?" I tugged on the chains again.

"I haven't got the slightest idea." Spring sighed.

"How have you survived??"

"I found a small fridge with water bottles and a small supply of food. The more I think about it, that could help us find out where we are.." He went silent.

"Yeesh.. I have one more question, then I'll shut up."

"Hit me."

"How long have I been here?" I started getting nervous when Spring didn't answer immediately.

"You've been out cold for about 4 months, if I had to guess." He said after while.

I went silent. 4 months? How? Why?

"You still alive?" Spring questioned.

"Y-Yeah.. Sorry, I'm just.. Processing." I replied after a few seconds.

"If you're wondering, I've been able to give you water, but not food. I'm guessing the only reason you're alive if because bears do that thing in the winter where they don't eat for, like, 3 months straight."

"Hibernation." I corrected him.

"Yeah, that. I'm not smart, can't you tell?" He chuckled. I sighed in response before going quiet.

I wonder how Lefty's doing... Probably thinks I'm dead or something...

"Hey, dude, you seem worried about something." Spring tapped my shoulder.

"I am."

"Wanna talk about it? It might help." He scooted over to the wall I was chained to and leaned against it. I sighed.

"I'm worried about my boyfriend.. I'm pretty sure he has separation anxiety, because every time I left him to go to the store or something, I'd come back and he'd be rocking himself on the floor. I don't know how he is now, or even if he's still alive.." I took a deep breath to stop myself from crying. I really wanted to. "I need to get out of here. We need to get out of here. I'm sure you have people missing you."
