'I only cared about the future now.'

~Lefty's POV~

I felt so bad for Molten. He didn't deserve to grow up like that. I just hope I can make him happy now.

"So, since I told you my story, is it okay if I ask about yours?" Molten looked at me as I stopped petting his ears. I sighed.

"If I must.."

~Flashback- Third Person POV~

"Good riddance, you ungrateful brats!" Lefty's mother yelled as the black car drove away.

The three brothers had been dumped on the side of a highway.

"Well this is just great. Now we're homeless! Wonderful!" Red, the oldest, proceeded to say every swear he knew.

"Red, please don't swear..." Lefty looked at him. "I don't want Helpy to start at a young age, and I doubt you do."

"Shut the hell up, Lefty!" Red snapped. Lefty flinched; Helpy instinctively hugged him. Red sighed.

"I'm sorry for snapping, I'm just really, really stressed." Red kicked a rock.

"What are we gonna do?" Helpy worried, his high pitched voice squeaking.

"We gotta find civilization, first of all. Ain't no way in hell are we gonna survive out here. We're just kids." Red sighed.

"We better start walking then.." Lefty looked around.

"We should rest for awhile. Thankfully, I snatched some medical supplies before we left." Red pulled a bag out of the pocket of his hoodie before continuing. "Lefty, move your hair."

"No." Lefty stepped away from Red. Helpy looked between them, confused.

"Why not? Are you okay?" He questioned.

"N-" Red was cut off.

"I'm fine!" Lefty smiled at Helpy, reassuring him.

"Liar. I wanna change the bandage at least." Red crossed his arms.

"..Fine." Lefty faced Red and moved the hair covering his left eye. A gauze pad was hidden underneath it.

"Oh jeez, this is worse than I expected. I'm no doctor, but I know what is good versus what isn't.." Red wore a worried look on his face as he took the pad off, turning his head as to not see it.

"What's wrong with him? Is he gonna be okay??" Helpy tugged on Red's shirt.

"You can't see this, kid." Red nudged him away. "It's too gross for a 5 year old to see."

"Gross??" Lefty panicked.

"I only said that so he wouldn't look." Red whispered. "That still doesn't mean it's good though."

"Just cover it so we can stop talking about this, please." Lefty sighed. Red nodded, looking at his brother's uncovered eye quickly. The socket was empty and blood trickled down like tears. It was sickening to see. Red quickly set the new pad in place, fixing Lefty's hair to cover it like it had before.

"There. All set." Red just stared at Lefty before hugging him.

"You okay..?" Lefty returned the hug, shocked by Red's sudden action.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, you didn't deserve what they did.." Red mumbled.

"Hey, it's okay. You didn't do anything." Lefty rubbed Red's back.

"Exactly, I didn't. I'm sorry." Red continued.

Helpy joined the hug, despite not knowing what it was for. He just liked hugs.
