Arthur's POV:

Thankfully, the explosion we heard wasn't from the clinic.

Unfortunately, it was from the building right beside it.

Kay and I slammed open the door to see Mrs. Stonn sitting on her chair in peace as she knitted a green scarf. "Oh, you're back so soon!" she exclaimed.

"You aren't deaf right?" Kay asked and I hit her side. "Oh, heavens, no, dear. Even if I was deaf, I could've felt the walls shaking," Mrs. Stonn giggled.

"Then why are you-"

"Not panicked? Well, as a nurse myself, I have a special kind of magic. It's a shame you've forgotten though. We can bless our clinics with a special protection spell to protect our patients. That amulet really helped keep the shield's vitality in tact," Mrs. Stonn giggled again.

"You saw-" I said in disbelief.

Mrs. Stonn nodded. "Dear Arthur, I am a nurse. I have to know what happens to my patients," she said and continued to peacefully knit the scarf.

"If you say so," Kay said and started for the door. I followed her back outside.

"How did I not remember that?" I muttered under my breath. "You aren't a nurse," Kay said. I was slightly surprised that she heard what I had said.

"True."

"Where do you think Amelia is right now?" Kay asked me. I thought for a moment then pulled out my phone to call my sister.

"Yes?" came her voice.

"We've got something to tell you. Where are you?" I asked her. "Cafeteria. But you might want to meet me somewhere more private," Amelia replied.

"Where do you suggest?"

"Greenhouse. See you there in five minutes," Amelia hung up.

Well that means there's no more negotiating.

"Greenhouse?" Kay asked. She must've heard Amelia.

"Greenhouse," I confirmed.

"Let's get going then. It's a pretty long run from here," Kay said breaking down the road back to the Academy. I followed right behind her.

Turns out, Kay knew a shortcut.

And that shortcut includes of jumping over the tall outer walls of the Academy. I barely made it to the other side with my life. The walls weren't meant to be jumped over, but there was a spot that we can access. Unfortunately, it isn't any nearer to the Greenhouse.

We were almost there with a minute to spare. But then, Kay stopped and pulled me behind a bush.

I looked at her as she signaled me to be quiet.

"I don't understand why nobody else would want to go here. There are a lot of things the plants know about this world that you just don't," said a male voice. "From what I've heard, only two people come here almost everyday. It's not like they actually talk to the plants though," said a female voice.

"You say it's the master of magic?" asked the male voice. "Yep. And her boyfriend of course," answered the female voice.

"Why don't the creatures communicator hang here as well?" the male voice asked again. "No idea. But, come on, when there's already a couple, you don't want to third wheel something," she replied.

The two people walked away.

When we were sure they were gone, I asked, "Did you see what they look like?"
