『1』

This letter is to show that you have not been selected in this position. Thank you for having BangCorp as one of your occupation options.

Sincerely,
Christopher Bang
CEO of BangCorp.

The same damn words everytime I go into a job interview.

I sighed, slumping onto the couch holding one out of the other numerous job rejection letters that was sprawled in front of me. It's been weeks since I was job-hunting, yet no single company hired me to have a position.

Was it because of my resume? After all, I'm just new to the secretary thing. But I studied Business management! Isn't that more than needed of a secretary?

I groaned in frustration, running my hand through my hair. I was desperate to find a job, or else I'll end up going home in the countryside to work in the flower shop with mom.

It's not that I hated it there in shop, but I would feel left out. I loved cities and the tall buildings. I love the sophisticated city of Seoul. I always thought that the strong and most powerful people worked and lived there. And so, as growing up, I wanted to have a white collar job there.

Not that it's all good, but it can be pretty tough too.

Since my roommate's a doctor she'd be out most of the time, leaving me to do the chores and work at home. I'd have to run for groceries and some errands. Though YeonWoo having a flexible schedule that she could tinker if she wanted to, she'd still be busy 24/7.

Sometimes, I envy her of being a workaholic.

Sighing, my phone rings and buzzes on the table to find my roommate, Yeon Woo, calling me. I reach for my phone and answer it.

"Did you get a job?" She asks, almost too enthusiastic.

"Nah. Not even a single one." I huffed.

"What? Ugh. Don't worry, you'll get one soon. And once you do, I'll fix my schedule. Just so that we could maybe take turns in cleaning the condo unit. Relax, sis, okay?" She coos, immediately enlightening me with her smooth voice.

Sometimes she reminds me of mom. She's a soft-talker, a bundle of hopes and strength. But sometimes too much of a ditz. She can't cook even if her life depended on it.

"Alright, alright. But when are you getting here?" I said, turning on the television in front of me.

"I don't know...The chief surgeon told me that there was a car accident and needed a bone relocation surgery. I'll maybe stop by later at night." She says.

"Oh! By the way!"

I didn't get to listen to her as I was focusing on the Television programs. I stopped by at the News Channel and saw that it was on the gossip portion. I clicked my tongue as I read the header.

CEO hits One Million followers in Instagram!

Like I care. I rolled my eyes, seeing that they even put the picture of the CEO on the screen. I shuddered at how serious and sharp his expression was. How could anyone follow him? He looks like he could kill me only with his glance.

Powerful people in Seoul can be scary.

"And so- hey! Are you listening to me?" Yeonwoo's nagging brought me back to reality.

"Oh yeah! Yeah! But I dozed off a bit. Sorry...Watching the news." I say, turning off the TV. I didn't want to hear the unnecessary news.

"Ah- Yes ma'am. Sorry sis! Gotta go! Could you pick up groceries on the way?" She then hung up. I shrugged it off. She was a doctor on duty, after all. Duty comes in the most unexpected times for a doctor, I guess.
