"Omg- Then what did you reply to that?!" Jisoo was laughing hysterically as she cackled over what happened last night between the texts of me and Chan.
But obviously, I left out the part where I told Chan that I'd go to lunch with him alone.
So what exactly happened?
I didn't correct the typo I made because I was being too much of a coward to do so. Now it felt as if I was flirting with him through Chat.
As Jisoo and I worked side by side, being separated by a thin cubicle wall, eventually my phone in my pocket buzzed up.
It was a message from Chan. His text message alone made me feel weird and peculiar feelings. Deja Vu hit me right in the chest. I know this nostalgic feeling. But I don't want to pinpoint it just yet.
I checked the message.
< i know ur at work,, but is there any update about my secretary,, she's unusually quiet today.
I recall about my files being deleted yesterday, and I already asked Jisoo to help me out with the CCTV footage. But I didn't feel satisfied yet--I don't think simple sabotaging won't make her get fired, but instead a simple probation or a warning.
I put my palm under my chin, as I propped my elbow on the desk.
The mission here is to get her fired without having to make a move ourselves. The trick here is to take advantage of Hyejin's actions against her. No harm done to her.
But what's a way to get her to do more? Provoke her. Let's see how far is she willing to push her hatred towards me. Let's see how strong and repulsive her anger and unknown hatred is toward me.
I returned back to my work, seeing that it's thirty minutes before lunch. I then remember that I'm about to have this little lunch with Chan, remembering that I promised to take him to lunch alone.
As I think about it, I can't help but feel nervous and somewhat excited. I don't know why, but I just smiled thinking about it. It made me feel giddy and tingly.
"Whoa, you look like you just ate a pot of rainbows and unicorn shit. What's on your mind?" Jisoo asked, her elbow propped on the low cubicle wall.
"Nothing. I'm just excited for...Um...Uh...M-My laptop! Yeah...It's uh..." I tried to make up a lie, but I remember that I can't have the guts and acting skills to do it.
The thing with me is that I can't make up excuses and lies. I suck at it.
"Yeah, spill it out sis, what's going on?" She asks, making me chuckle as I dropped my gaze to the floor.
"Jisoo, I can't go to lunch today." I said, scratching the back of my head while looking at her with a sheepy smile.
"What? Aw. Oh wait. Are you going with someone else? A date?" She asks, making me immediately shake my head and deny it.
"No! I'm just going to meet...My bestfriend! Yeah!" I pulled up an excuse.
"Really? Can I come? I like meeting people-"
"N-No! Uh...He's kind of...Introverted." I pulled up another lie.
"Aw." Jisoo pouted.
"Well...Have fun, then. I'll just maybe ask someone to join me." She shrugs.
"Sorry Jisoo-ah...You can stay at my condo, though." I say, making her shake her hands. "Ah, no, no. It's fine! I can just take Lisa with me." She smiles, making me shoot up a smile.
"Oh? Is there something you're not telling me?" I ask, looking up at her with a smirk.
"W-What no- I don't know what you're talking about." She denied, then immediately sat down on her swivel chair.
