Chapter 36

I woke up and sat up in the bed, the cottage was fixed and Adrian was asleep on the couch. I got up and stretched before making my way over to him and observed his shallow breathing and relaxed body. I kissed his forehead and walked outside and looked at the silhouettes of the trees. The moon was shining giving me a faint light to see movement. I closed my eyes and leaned my head backward toward the night sky and soaked in the moonlight. I heard a noise from the cottage but shrugged it off as Adrian shifting in his sleep. I felt the wind pick up as my hairs stood up, I opened my eyes and looked around the darkness around me. I felt a presence behind me and breath by my ear.

"I finally found you" I jumped turning around seeing green eyes but they weren't Adrian's, they were Williams. I felt my scythe begin to form but was grabbed behind by someone else, I struggled to break free, I watched William get close enough to kick him backward and get free of the person grabbing me. I turned around to meet Claude's glowing eyes as he pushed his glasses up and smoothed his hair out. I saw more figures come out from the woods darkness, pairs of red and green eyed demons and reapers. I watched as they all ran towards me, before I could summon my scythe a felt my self being pinned down by Claude and William walking over with a needle. I was lifted up with my arms behind me as William got closer and stuck the needle in my neck. I let out a scream as everything faded.

I sat up mid scream which of course made Adrian rush over. I took some deep breaths and put my hand to my neck not feeling any kind of bump or bruise. "Whats wrong love?" Adrian sat down by me and moved my hair away from my sweaty forehead and behind my ear. I replayed my dream in my mind making sure it hadn't happened. I looked around still seeing the mess of the cottage and the sun was setting. I shook my head and explained what happened to Adrian. He hugged me, stroking my head and whispering sweet nothings. After a while in each others arms we broke apart and I got up and went to get some water. I noticed Adrian had cleaned up the messes on the ground while I had been asleep.

"(y/n) I think you had another vision" Adrian spoke up walking over. I felt my heart sink at the thought I was going to go through it. He must have sensed my anxiety because he walked over wrapping his arms around. "I wont let them get you" he said kissing my cheek. We sat down at the table and I set my head in my hands. "I think you should know why I lost control, maybe it will help solve the vision" I said to tired to really care. I looked up and him and took a deep breath "you left a book for me to read and well I stumbled upon a prophecy" I started searching for any realizations. "It mentions a hybrid who would combine the two worlds but first need to defeat to strongest one of each world" I added looking away worried he would feel hurt. After a few minutes of silence I looked up seeing him rub his eyes like he screwed up.

"I wanted to protect you for as long as possible but I forgot that book had it" he sighed, He sounded broken. I grabbed his hand and looked at him. "You can't protect me forever, if we ever want peace then I need to complete it" I said rubbing my thumb on his hand. He smiled at me before giggling. I tilted my head confused but laughed, his laughter was contagious and always made me happy. "So who's the strongest reaper? Is it you?" I asked smirking. He giggled and bopped my nose. "It's a secret"he said and got up. "Lets go to sleep, I wont leave your side" he whispered as we walked over and got under the covers. I knew he was scared after what I told him but he did well on hiding it. I was going to plan a whole day for us to relax and have a date even if it killed me. I laid my head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around me stroking my hair. "I'll protect you, i'll never let anyone hurt you" he whispered as I smiled. "I love you Adrian" I yawned falling asleep ready for good dreams.
