Chapter I: A Competitor(the lost chapter)

BTW, have you read my other story, Countdown to Death? Please do read it! It's quite brutal and bloody but I think it's pretty amazing ha-ha! I'm the author, anyway so I'm proud of it.

Well then here it is...

"So what is Geometry?" Tanong ng gurong naka-eyeglass at sobrang strikta ang mukha. No one raised a hand. "Let's see..." Ang nakakuha ng atensyon ng guro ay si Rhianne Santos na halatang paunti-unting natutulog. "Yes, Miss Santos?" Napatalon sa gulat si Rhianne sa pagkatawag ng guro sa kanya. Pinagtitinginan siya ng lahat habang siya'y walang kaide-ideya ng isasagot dahil hindi niya rin naman alam ang tanong.

"You want to sleep, then you may go home."

"No Ma'am..." Mahinang sagot ni Rhianne na ngayo'y nakatayo na ng diretso habang slightly nakayuko.

"Then answer my question..."

"What question, Ma'am?"

"Where have you been yesterday night that you lack sleep?"

"Ma'am?" Nagtaka si Rhianne sa tanong ng guro.

"Answer my question..."

"Umm... I... We-actually... Umm... We had a visitor last night, yeah visitor... Our cousins from Cebu and-umm...and-ahh... we spent the whole night meeting their needs and wants-of course to show hospitality among our family... and they wished me to be there and spend time with them so I never had enough time to sleep." Sabay ngiti nito sa guro. Tinutukan siya ng maigi ng guro na tila papatayin siya sa laser-eye nito.

"Mr. Montero," biglang sabi ng guro matapos ang ilang segundo. "What do you think, is Miss Santos telling the truth?" Tanong nito kay Alphaeus Montero - maputing lalaking tahimik na nagmamasid sa kanyang upuan.

"I am not quite sure about it, Ma'am... I haven't eaten balot that much." At nagtawanan ang buong klase.

"Ahh so she was eating balot with her cousins..." Dagdag ng guro.

"It was her brother with her Ma'am... outside their house..." Sobrang inis na talaga ni Rhianne kay Alphaeus.

Itong baklang 'to! Di ba pwedeng sabihing 'opo, may kasama siyang cousins niya at nagcecelebrate sila ng kung ano'?

"My cousins were inside our house that time Mr. MONTERO saw ME AND MY BROTHER." Pinandilatan ni Rhianne si Alphaeus.

"Yeah? I haven't seen anybody except your Mom, Dad, your brother and you in your house."

"Are you stalking us? Sneaking around our house? Are you some kind of theif? Or are you in love with my brother that anywhere he goes you watch him? Huh?"

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Napatayo si Alphaeus sa kanyang inuupuan. "I was putting the garbage outside the gate at 9 pm and saw you with your brother dancing in your house which looks so clear inside from the viewpoint in our gate. I just saw you, I didn't sneak around, why should I? You aren't famous at all. Besides, we were wide awake last night because you sings badly, I hope you won't do that again, my eardrums almost lost it."

"What?" Naka-crossed arms na si Rhianne sa inis.

"But don't worry, I'm sure your neighbors got used to all your loud voices."

"Sumusobra ka na Alpha!" Sinugod ni Rhiannesi Alpha sabay suntok nito sa mukha na napaatras kay Alphaeus.

"Miss Santos! That's enogh!"
